As a landscape business owner myself Im just giving these guys a 5 star to counter the 1 star spiteful reviews I just read.Imagine having to run multiple trucks, a ton of staff, to coordinate snow removal and fighting with mother nature. Most reviews poor reviews are left by spiteful employees, liberal crybabies, and general complainers.Great iob guys on running a sucessful local business, hiring local staff and keeping the economy going. Cheers.

We decided to hire Forest Ridge for our backyard project. Since we are not experts in this type of work, we thought it best to have a professional do the work. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues from the beginning that created a recipe for failure. Early in May (after our deposit was given) I was informed that our backyard project was scheduled for May 20- Jun 15 & would be completed by mid June. After persistent calls & emails (on my end) the project finally got underway mid July & completed last week (mid Aug). Timelines were not kept! This should have been my first red flag however we had already paid our deposit & had other items lined up for delivery based on the dates they had originally given so we decided to go ahead with the delayed start. For anyone looking at hiring Forest Ridge please make sure you have the following before handing over your hard-earned money……….1. have every detail of what you want in your project in writing, any verbal discussions on site or off need to be transferred into written form as what we had discussed was not honored as we progressed through the project. Poor communication amongst a number of staff members left us frustrated & disappointed with Forest Ridges solutions to these “miscommunications.” 2. Ensure you have a walk through & detail all wants/needs before handing over your deposit. The first day they were to be on site to start the project was the day the proper “walk through” was done. However, at the time we felt confident everything had been covered & we were now all on the same page. In the ended, we incurred an additional two quotes for “extra” work they hadn’t included in writing on the original quote but were discussed verbally. The way we see it they were trying to recover some of the cost they failed to include in the original quote. 3. Make sure you see the drawings/plans. We did not & that is on us for not asking, but we trusted what we were being told. We don’t know all the details of what is involved in a project of this size, that’s why we hired a company in the field who could give us insight & ensure the project ran smoothly…..this one did not.On the upside, they did a great job on the fencing & concrete pad, very pleased with the final product the workmanship is top notch, this is the only reason for a “three star” rating. To future customers, know as much as you can before hiring any expert, ask lots of questions & get everything in writing so you don’t incur additional costs. The process has been exhausting & frustrating to say the least; this was a project we were very excited about having completed & now we’re just happy it’s over.Service: Concrete masonry

Had my car parked in the parking lot at work come out to find it covered in grass because they used an old ride on mower with no guard.

We had our front walkway done this month and we are thrilled with the results! The previous walkway was a tripping hazard and definitely needed a facelift. The team was here 5 days in total and were friendly, efficient, and did incredible work!I’m only posting an after photo because the before was too embarrassing to even talk about.Service: Walkway landscaping

This company was subcontracted by the hydro company to maintain their properties. They do not care about quality, just get it done as quick as possible. The photos are from 30 minutes after their crew left, you can see huge tufts of grass left behind.Service: Lawn care

I work for this company. It's my first year with them for plowing snow in Hamilton. I do sidewalks. The company is pretty good so far, staff is friendly. I'm a landscaper and am going to maybe work for them in the summer and be able to give a more detailed review.

Employees of this company caused damage to my vehicle while I was driving on Yonge stI Confronted them about the damage to the side of my vehicle with video evidence to then received a reply that I shouldn’t have been driving by at the time they were working. For everyone’s information it was 2pm they just weren’t working in a safe mannerHow do these companies get contacts to do work for the city. This is our tax dollars at work causing damage to our property and then we are blamed. The city contract should state that they be held responsible for unsafe work or damage caused.Or maybe it does and they chose not to follow the contract

Do not use this company they are thieves. Sub-Contracted for them in the winter doing snow removal for 2021/2022 and they never paid. Keep making excuses. Bunch of nasty crooks. Wasted time, gas and wear and tear on my truck.

If you are somebody who is inquiring about working for a landscaping company, or potentially using this company I would advise you to steer clear.Recently, looking for a job in the job market, I applied to this business as I was interested in the $20.00 hourly wage that was posted on indeed, as well as a $40.00 per day standby bonus if you weren't to be scheduled for snow removal.During my process of the interview/hiring/acquisition stage of potentially becoming an employee of Forest Ridge Landscaping, one of the contracts they had you sign stipulated if you missed any time, you would forfeit the $40.00 per day standby pay.I inquired further, as I had medical appointments that were already scheduled that I would be unable to miss. I had asked twice, during an eight hour period "If I miss time due to my medical appointments, would I lose my standby pay?"Unfortunately, nobody responded to my question. Feeling unheard, I decided it would be best for me to not go forward with the hiring process. I emailed the personnel that was instructing me on next steps, and hoped that would be the end of it.The following Monday, I received two calls. One from the HR / Joint Health & Safety contact, and one from a pit crew boss within two hours. I responded to them that my question about my medical appointments potentially affecting the standby pay had gone unanswered, and I was no longer interested in the position. To the pit crew leader who had called me, they did provide an answer, albeit late, that the company would most likely work with me if I had medical appointments. It was a vague answer that came much too late.Today, Tuesday November 23rd, at approximately 2:00pm , an individual called to see if I was available for work. I expressed disinterest, and did say that I was very troubled that this company doesn't seem to have the most effective method of communication, to which the individual swore at me, and uttered expletives before disconnecting the call.I called the number posted for Forest Ridge Landscaping to make a complaint, and ensure that I was removed from any potential candidacy lists as an employee as I did not appreciate the harassing phone calls. The caller had identified themselves as Gerry, and when I mentioned this to the front desk personnel, they confirmed that this Gerry, was indeed Gerry Visco, the CEO of this company. (pictured below this post)All of this information is publicly available, and posted on their website.I am not calling for anybody to harass the Visco family, or ask anybody to rate this company any lower like myself, I am merely writing a review and posting both to Google & Facebook speaking what happened to me today. If Gerry Visco chooses to try and have this review removed from Facebook, or attempts to have them removed from Google, I can't say I would blame him wanting to hide a blemish on his otherwise wonderfully rated service.I cannot speak to how the company functions, or how well they do their job, though from the interaction with the CEO of the company, I can only assume if you are not family, you are likely not treated well.Thank you for anyone taking the time to read this review, and again, I am not calling for anybody to harass Gerry, his family, or give this business any trouble.I'm simply voicing my complaint about how this company is not very good at communication, and that the CEO is not the most professional person you can encounter.Have a wonderful day.- Jake

I feel it's important to give credit where credit is due and also provide honest feedback to the community on this forum so they can make an informed decision when spending their hard earned cash. Forest Ridge is not only a top notch quality landscaping company that does proper work, but they are a true "partnership" with their clients. They had done a stone-work project about 5-6 years ago and due to inclement harsh Canadian weather, the stones began to show signs of sinking. Forest Ridge stood by their quality and craftsmanship to the degree of making it a point to survey the situation in person within 48 hours and provide the service a few weeks later to repair the issue at no cost. This is service at it's best...especially in a day and age where companies approach clients with dollar signs and "bottom line" being the driving force of business.Cost aside, the personal investment and hands on approach from Gerry Visco and his team is next to none. They really make you feel like you matter. Our world needs more people and companies that adopt a similar approach to market. Well done Forest Ridge and keep up the good work!Jason

After extensive research, I settled on Forest Ridge Landscaping. My project was fairly large, which transformed all of the back yard. It included a composite deck with glass rails, patio stones, a pergola, landscaping, lighting, even a cement pad for a shed. The project started & ended on time. The work crews arrived & left at about the same time every day. No complaints whatsoever. The only issue was with a Japanese Maple, which did not take to its location very well. It was replaced with a pagoda dogwood, which is thriving. Highly recommended.

Terrible driving. I watched a guy doing 70/80 kph in a school zone. The truck had a large blade in front in very icy conditions.Kids everywhere crazy dangerous.Life must not mean much to this company. Choose someone else to do your landscaping.Shameful and unprofessional.
