This happened a year ago. I've been thinking and waiting patiently for a long time, hoping for a satisfactory response from them. However, so far, there has been none.A year ago, I went to this Midas location for an oil change. This is the fourth time I've chosen their service. Everything seemed normal; I waited until they called to say it was done. I picked up the car and headed to work, but soon heard a loud scraping sound underneath. Alarmed by the harsh noise, I pulled over, only to find a piece of metal had detached and curled up, likely due to friction with the road. Despite needing to get to work, I endured the noise and called Midas to explain. They instructed me to bring the car in for inspection the next day. After the inspection the next day, the manager explained that the dust cover under the car had come loose, evidently because Midas didn't secure it properly after the oil change. He mentioned they could replace it but needed to order the part. After three months of waiting and following up, I was told to continue waiting until they had the part. Later when I returned for a tire swap, I inquire again. The manager mentioned few people were waiting for the part and downplayed the importance of the dust cover. And he was stating it wouldn't harm the car without this piece . However, over a year later it seems I may never receive that call.Sharing my experience is important, and I don't seek a response or compensation. I know that sometimes you can be busy, and mistakes may occur. But It's disheartening to pay an almost $100 for an oil change and to have my car lose a part. This is unacceptable to me. If you cannot or are unwilling to rectify the error, it's crucial not to give customers false hope. While the dust cover may seem inconsequential, its presence on the car indicates its purpose, and even if deemed unimportant, it matters to me.

I dropped off my car for a scheduled oil and fluid change +1 month ago. The oil was changed but they did not have the diff. fluid and told me they'll order it and asked me to wait for their call in a couple of days.I did not receive any feedback for 2 weeks! and I went to the store and explained it and again they told me they will call me in 2 days.Again, I did not receive any call and I went for the 3rd time and I was told the guy is in a meeting and will call me as soon as he us out of the meeting.And they haven't call me until now after 4 weeks.Whatever the cause of this issue is, a customer deserves feedback and respect rather than ignorance and giving unacceptable responses!I decided to go to Mr. loob and doing the fluid change with genuine fluid from manufacturer and also called the local dealership to make sure it is available! So, the issue was not with the liquid.

I came to midas because I needed an oil change and an alignment, and asked them to check my bearings because my dad thought they might be an issue... unfortunately my dad was right. Midas was friendly, honest qnd explained the problems so i understood, they showed me the issues with my car and didn't do the alignment now because I will need another after the bearings are replaced. It is refreshing that they were so honest and didn't overcharge, they could've continued the alignment that I asked for... I will definitely be back

Dominic and his team are absolutely wonderful. They are honest, thorough, kind, and have the best customer service. We always bring our vehicles here - for tire changes, tire purchases, oil changes, maintenance, they are the ones we trust!

They went above and beyond helping me get a wheel lock off of my tire to change over to my spare tire. After trying everything I possibly could they came through. They are my go to for the things I can't do myself

Dominic and Daniel were super friendly and amazing at delivering value for the services! I had a few bad experiences with shops so I know what to look for and this place is honest and not after money but rather focused on effective service that lasts and satisfied long term customers which is rare to find in the industry. I highly recommend it, true gem!

I booked an apt for an oil change and they were running a bit behind and I ended up having to wait a bit longer than expected and they covered the oil change. I also needed some other work done and they quoted but put zero pressure on booking it. Amazing customer service!

Booked an appointment to change my winter tires and to have an oil change. Domenic and his team were great! They were friendly, courteous and prompt. I also asked if they could check my brakes and they made time to check them and provide great advice. The best mechanic in the York region area. Dom is a stand up guy and the rest of the staff is the same. These guys will take good care of you, and you never have to worry about them doing anything to make a quick buck off you. They do good honest work at a fair and reasonable price. Been going to this Midas for a couple years now and wouldn’t even think of changing it up anytime soon. Definitely find some of the best there is in the area here.Services: Oil change

I had my brake pads and rotors replaced by the team here, and in the weeks and months to follow had multiple recurring problems. Although disappointed and frustrated, I was impressed by the team’s efforts to diagnose and resolve the issues. Dominic was very willing to work with me, and eventually I was financially compensated for the problem. Excellent customer service.

Highly recommend Midas Newmarket (Yonge St)! I have taken my vehicles there for the past 8 years and Dominic and team (Bill, Daniel and the rest of the guys) always provide stellar customer service, accurately fix any problems, keep my cars in good shape, are excellent at communicating all the options, and are always more than fair. Booked an appointment for brake pads and today I was told needed to replace the rotors, therefore, I refused to make it with them. The price provided was crazy expensive. I picked up the car after half an hour and somebody at the front desk gave me the key back without even looking at me. You guys lost a client

I've gone to this location for a few oil changes before, without a problem. However, I went there last week for an oil change (nothing wrong with that) and I mentioned that when I turn to the right, my car makes a grinding noise, and I asked them if they could inspect my car to find out what the problem was. They came back to me with a quote for $700, saying the front brakes needed to be replaced, and that they were metal on metal (which was what was causing the grinding noise). I told them my brakes felt fine, and that the noise occured, even when I wasn't braking. Since I didn't have the funds to pay $700, I told them I was going to look around for a better price (they did say they could lower the price to $600, but that was still too much).I ended up going to Jerry's Place, off of Davis Dr. He took my wheels off in front of me, and I was able to see that my front brakes were FINE. At least about 50% left on them. The grinding noise was caused by a misplaced dust shield. Jerry adjusted the dust plate, and the noise was gone. He didn't even charge me anything!I was livid at Midas, to say the least. I went back to Midas, to confront them, and ask for an explanation. The front desk person seemed very apathetic about the situation, and when I talked to the technician that gave me the incorrect diagnosis, he kept repeating that "based on my visual inspection, the problem was your front brakes". I received no apology, or admission, or reason as to why they provided me with an incorrect diagnosis. I would have been out $700 if I didn't get a second opinion. I will never go back to this location.Service: Oil change
