I have been using The Exchange House longer than I can remember. We spend 6 months south and when ever I need to exchange CDN for US dollars the transaction is seamless.

The worker we ended up chatting with was so nice and I'm really grateful cause I was bugging a little cause I thought I trapped us to go back over the boarder when we just came over. Lol. Extremely helpful and nice. :D

Was a decent place but not able to buy anything unless your moving into New York to come back in The USA which can be annoying if your crossing at a different state otherwise gets the job done

Went to the other location near Bird Kingdom, on the way into Canada. We were so impressed with the service and with Brandon's willingness to share information about commemorative coins from the country. The rates were very fair and he was so patient to find us the coins we wanted. So so highly recommend this place.

No issues exchanging currency. Not a bad rate, and I didn’t feel like going anywhere else to try to save a couple dollars.

Exchanged 40 dollars US to Canadian. Rate was 1.28 ( everywhere else was 1.32). Was given 49 dollars Canadian. Thats paying a 2.20 premium in addition to the 4 cent exhange rate difference.

This "Temple of Currency Exchange" is actually a booth with two cashiers and a small waiting area for customers. Specializes in exchanging USD to CAD and vice versa. At the same time, he works until late, and at an alarming speed - the bills rustle in the hands of the cashiers, like the good old currency traders from the post-Soviet bazaars of the early 90s. Naturally, they do not issue a receipt for the exchange. At the same time, oddly enough, the exchange rate is more or less acceptable, and the service is quite polite.

friendly woman at counter when i exchanged my money...not the greatest exchange rates, but convenient and honest unlike the place on Victoria St and Clinton Hill. That place is a rip off and shady..if your not exchanging more than $100 use this place or try your luck at the casino which is about the same rate without the temptation to donate it back to the casino.

The Exchange House capitalizes on a very aggressive spread on the buy and sell rate for CAD/USD. They are unable to compete with local currency exchange outlets or the bank for that matter.
I found the staff to be rude and condescending when I politely asked why their rates were much higher than a local currency exchange outlet I had just exchanged with earlier that day. I was told by the staff that the rate I received was not possible and "illegal." I was then fed some more misinformation on the spot rate for the day.
On my way out I informed a customer walking in that he would receive a much better rate elsewhere. The staff member then walked out of the booth and began yelling at me for taking customers away from her.
Stay away unless you want to be ripped off.
