It feels like a slightly above average hotel masquerading as a high-end fancy resort. The pool area was overcrowded and cramped, it felt like something you'd expect at Wild Waterworks. The room and areas surrounding were again masquerading as fancy, but really it feels flimsy and a bit fake-looking. The photos on social media are not an accurate representation of the vibe and aesthetic of the whole hotel. They are some nice areas like the lobby and restaurant, but the rest had a cheaper feel to it.
The spa is also overpriced and provides terrible massages.
If the hotel was half the price, I'd give this a 4 star review. But given the price point, it's definitely a 2 or 3 star.

Whoever thought having live music at the pool was a good idea was seriously disturbed. So much for a relaxing day reading by the pool, you can drown out the kids playing and the radio, but the live music was simply awful. We had to go to the indoor pool on a nice day just to get away from it. Please start advertising days with live music so we can not go ??

It was just ok. Honestly little disappointed definitely did not look like how it does on social media. Room was worn. Wallpaper coming off walls. Toilet paper holder was falling off. Shower was only a shower handle with no pressure. For the price not impressed. Pool was dated also. Hot springs wasn’t that clean.hallway smelled dingy. 15 min walk to the strip which I didn’t mind but wish I knew. Tried to use the shuttle twice and it wasn’t avail. Bed was cozy. Parking was easy and on property. Room was large. I didn’t get to eat at the property but I heard it was good. Gardens across the street were pretty.

Rooms are spacious but did not smell fresh. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the pool was absolutely packed...not a chair or lounger available and the girl explained that Spa people can use it too. I paid alot of money for a room for my daughter and I and we went to Spa as well but should have been able to find a seat by the pool...tried for 3 hours. Spa people should not supercede hotel people for outdoor pool. Service was incredible and wonderful from the front desk to the room service to the restaurant to those passing you in the hallway. Top of the line on all levels. Wonderful workers. They deserve 10 stars!

I have come here many times before but lately it's becoming run down. I have had my worst experience ever not only at this place but compared to even mid-ranged hotels.
The room I stayed in was on the right wing ground floor and the carpet is dirty and worn out. There was a deodorant that was used during their cleanup so it smelled good when I first arrived. I didn't think much of it but now I realize this was a bad sign.
In the middle of the night I woke up a very bad and strong urine smell. I discovered that in the corner of the bed was also a very strong rotting wood smell.
Obviously this is not acceptable so I went out to at 2:00 in the morning and no one was there to help. I also tried phoning the reception but also no one picked up.
I was very exhausted at this time and was about to leave but then tried opening the windows which helped a little bit. Eventually I just passed out.
The next morning I woke up earlier as a result of the strong smell again. I had around 5 hours of sleep so Icomplained and the reception was very good at giving me a new room. They said they would add an adjustment for the troubles which I thought would have been at least a whole room fee.
I stayed for another day and then checked out. When I examined the bill I discovered I didn't even get 50% off the first day.
As a business person myself there is no way I would only give someone a small credit like that. I would be so embarrassed and definitely give the entire day off if not the entire trip.
The outdoor swimming pool is nice except for the black mold forming under the rims around the edges of the pool. The lawn chairs are also looking very old and worn out.
The singer at the pool was amazing.
The outdoor hot tub is one of the nicest features but it closed too early at 8:45pm. It was never like that before.
The water station is no longer in the indoor swimming pool area. I feel that it's really important to have it there since people are swimming and using the hot tub and then they get thirsty.
Overall, I found the staff not as friendly as before and they seemed not too happy with their job.
I hope this review helps you out as I'm sure they're also really great rooms still and probably many people don't have a problem. The room I got on the second day was great. But because of the poor handling of the situation I cannot give this place a good review and I will not likely come back.

Love it here. Such a beautiful place to get married, and spend a few days. Good food, 2 nice pools, gorgeous location close to town and the wineries.

While sympathetic with the reviews that some details in the hotel could appear old, well, isn't that part of the ambiance? Besides, this is not one of the newer hotels built with modern industrial materials. We, including three kids, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, including the pools and restaurant, the sauna, the bar (and excellent service of drinks and food to guests in the hotel lobby and around the pool), and the walking distance to the town.

As stated below, love the place but it’s slipping. Needs updates, etc.
Rooms: My friends room (120) was so musty and damp that it literally warped the pages in his passport. The sheets were damp so he slept on top of them. His clothing smelled like the room when we left.
My room was absolutely lovely. 123
Food & drinks: Food was very good but there were definitely not enough servers. Wait times were really long. Most of the wait staff were friendly and accommodating.
Noteworthy details: We find it astounding that a ‘resort’ shuts the bar down so early. After going to see a show it would be nice to come back and have a nightcap. It’s like a ghost town. And, most hotels, let alone ‘resorts’ have a sundry shop that is accessible to customers. Even if there were some snacks and drinks in vending machines that were open 24/7.
We’ve been coming to the Pillar and Post for at least 10 years now. Overall it seems to be slipping. We always loved it there in spite of it being a ghost town feel by 10pm. Hope things improve before our next or perhaps our last visit.

I visited this hotel with my husband for our anniversary. We loved the hotel and surrounding area. It feels very luxurious and classy. It’s a perfect getaway for couples, family and friends. We will continue returning to this beautiful place.
Food & drinks: The restaurant in the hotel offers delicious food.

This is our 5th time back!!! Our favorite place to stay in Niagara On the Lake ❤️ we always enjoy our stay here, rooms are spacious and lovely, the staff, professional and friendly and the amenities are wonderful!
Rooms: Spacious and very clean. We also love our fireplace in room. The bathroom has a shower to die for!
Walkability: The village is about 1 mile away, we love the walk, however, the hotel provides shuttle service too!

We stayed over night for our anniversary, taking the Summer Lovin' package which included dinner and breakfast. Overall, it was a relaxing stay and we left feeling refreshed.
I can't say enough about the staff, absolutely everyone was friendly and genuinely welcoming. We truly felt like guests and well taken care of. A nice feature is that staff came around at night to deliver a rose to each room. Very nice.
Our server at the Cannery for dinner was aware it was our anniversary and offered his congratulations - which was so lovely. Our meals were very well prepared, our dinner included starters, dinners, and dessert. I had the chicken supreme and my spouse had the prime rib. Both meals were delicious and well portioned. For dessert, I had cheesecake and my spouse had the peach truffle crumble. Both were well made and not overly sweet - the flavours came through. The breakfast buffet, also at the Cannery, offered a good selection of breakfast foods including an omelette station. We noted that the hot items were room temperature and the server brought us freshly cooked and HOT items.
We did note that the building is really worn and tired looking - the finishes on the corners and walls is worn, chipped, and scuffed. In several hallways, the air is stuffy due to a lack of airflow. In fact, our room had a distinctive odour we thought might indicate mice. The furniture in our room was very dated but the room was clean and very spacious. We had excellent water pressure and loved the hand held shower head option.
On the day of our arrival, we visited the Hot Springs pool, which is well landscaped and private. The water quality was dubious enough that we skipped our reservation for our departure day.
Overall, it was a very good experience but should be noted that the facilities are in need of some TLC.

Didn't stay here. Had a nice stroll through the gardens. Pond with Koi. Relaxing area for a leisurely stroll.
