New businesses beware. This is supposed to be an incubator to help small business by the City of Toronto. As one of the vendors targeted, here is the story: New food vendors from traditionally marginalized communities were recruited and selected by the City to be part of a new food incubation project. The City promised to help them develop successful businesses. But then the City failed to provide the supports they'd promised and left the vendors to fend for themselves in space that attracted few customers. Despite excellent food reviews from The Toronto Star, CBC and Toronto Life, the vendors had little business. Despite knowing this, the City insisted on charging vendors rent although knew they could not afford to pay. Then the city evicted them for not paying it.

The City of Toronto knowingly entered into an agreement with the vendors that signed on with the FLIP Incubator program and then did not deliver on the supports that they had promised the businesses. I am not affiliated with any of the vendors but I frequented this food hall often and am disappointed with how this program has failed the businesses it was meant to support.

This food hall is a delicious hidden gem - multiple food stalls, all serving really tasty and interesting meals and snacks! It's especially perfect if you're eating with other people who like different types of food from one another (e.g. comfort food, vegan, etc) because everyone can get something different. Also, I love that it's all startup food stalls, so it feels great to be supporting small/new businesses. Highly recommend!
