“I approached Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home as my husband and I wanted to combine all necessary future funeral services in one location. So our intention was to enrol in the Pre-Need Funeral Arrangements.
I made an appointment with Emily Di Falco-Digiovanni, the Pre-Need Funeral Councillor. I was struck immediately by her efficiency and warm personality. Very patiently, she discussed all the services offered. She gave me a tour of the premises and after a thorough visit and discussion I could select what I felt was most appropriate. There was nothing lacking with regards to a Catholic funeral in the beautiful Chapel of St. Joseph. I remember going home feeling very satisfied and assured that this was the right decision. I passed all the information to my husband and he agreed that everything was in order.
Little did we know that a week to the date, the Pre-need Plan became an immediate much needed service.
When my husband passed away, I was given an appointment with the Funeral Director, Matthew Benjamin. Right from the start, Matthew was sympathetic, caring, and above all, very methodical in all aspects of the planning for the funeral. The services I had selected a week earlier were reviewed and put in place. There were many emails to Matthew which were promptly answered. Any wishes I had were accomplished to the fullest. At every stage of the planning, Matthew went out of his way to make sure my family and I were completely satisfied. He offered suggestions that were immensely helpful, especially when selecting the floral arrangements and food for the reception.
We missed him on the day of the funeral as it was his weekend off. His presence would have completed a perfectly planned event.
