The elevator is really sus. It's super loud and kinda dirty. Food is expensive except for Wendy's and the bubble tea place near the door on the first floor.

Multiple student advisors are available to support students. You can make an appointment by scanning a QR code located near the waiting hall entrance using your phone, or using an iPad placed on the front desk inside the waiting room. Your name and waiting time appears on the big screen while you are seated. Advisors can help with non-academic registration matters. They are helpful.

Common eating and meeting place for students!! Diverse food options! Located near subway! Microwave oven for common use! Architecture of this building is great!! Never forget to try the underground bar and restaurant!

A bird pooped in my food here.Edit: since the picture of the actual p*** I uploaded keeps vanishing, I can write a more detailed and on topic review too... but that's not flattering either.Sure, there are plenty of fast food options here. Some can pass for healthy. Most would never survive outside in the real world (consistently poor quality, increased prices)- they just milk the student population since they're the only options here. Shoutout to the Underground Kitchen here for being one of the best eateries at York though. There are people selling counterfeit perfumes and jewellery along the windows. The MacBook and iPhone cases aren't fake, they're just imported. Which is pretty much the same thing, really. There's a homeless issue here during the nights. Birds roost in the ceiling supports. It's common to see both here. Cue the one that pooped in my lunch (the bird, not the homeless guys). The student advocacy group (YFS) "advocates" for 52,000 students in the loosest sense possible. And even that is contingent on how many drinks you've had. All the club spaces on the upper floors are always reserved but never seem to be occupied. They built another student centre, but even that has half the space permanently reserved for clubs. For comparison, there are something like 15 publicly available group study rooms at York. Yes, we have more private club rooms than we have study rooms at this university.YFS holds free breakfasts and agenda giveaways, but unironically there is no such thing as a free meal. When I say that they hand out free agendas, I mean that in the most literal sense. The material gifts are just to further their own agenda. The last time I tried claiming one, they wanted me to sign a "check-in sheet" suspiciously labeled a petition. When asked for a copy of the petition, nobody could produce a copy. You can't make this stuff up.
