We picked up sweet little Peggy from the Oakville and Milton Humane Society a few weeks ago. Poor Peggy has had to have a leg amputated in the past and the Humane Society took her in and made sure she had the surgeries she needed. It's clear that this Humane Society cares about their animals and took great care of Peggy as she is an Angel. Every step of the way the staff were diligent, helpful in any questions we had and made the adoption process great. So grateful for the addition to our family!

We adopted our kitten from here. They were fantastic and well organised, and we got an adorable, healthy amazing addition to our family!

Shame!I am furious at Humane Society for making the place smell, having forgetful, rude employees, and hostile environment towards us when it is suppose to be a peaceful resting place for pets.In hard times, me and my family felt awful when some employees became very disrespectful towards our family dog, who was died at young age of 7, by shoving the way with her cart to move our dog. That adds insult to an injury to the next level! We were very distress at the time of her death and yet, can they not read when some have handle Humane Society for decades. Are we able to trust them if they truly care about people and their pets?Plus, they just called by phone right now exclaiming "you have not received it few days ago" when they did not notify us the first time. There are many things to explain what is wrong; one simple question I raised regarding the poor treatment of our family and our dog: what kind of people are they?!?One thing, how do they get the order mixed up?!?! Infuriating!

Avery and the rest of the team were very helpful in arranging our adoption of George (as in "Curious George"!), who is proving to be a wonderful successor to our late and beloved super-senior cat Joseph and our late golden doodle Darcy. Thank you! I have attached a photo of George making himself at home as well as of Joseph.

My experience with OMHS has been exceptional from start to finish. The adoption process was smooth and the staff were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout.

OMHS-A wonderful place to find your new companion! We would like to thank Avery, Lisa and the entire staff at OMHS for your professionalism and compassionate approach to adoption. Your friendly open-door approach made our experience less intimidating. We recognize that your team has honed in on strict protocols to ensure the animals in your shelter are handed over to well vetted families. We are grateful that “we” were chosen to be Kiwi’s forever family. We remain steadfast in our commitment to our flock (ie. with target training; recall; ensuring proper nutrition; maintaining health & wellness; etc) and beyond excited that you were able to entrust us with our ability. Once again, thank you!

A while ago i asked for help from this organization with a sick dog. I shared my story with there intake department filled out the nessasary documents, after which i recieved a reply that they were unable to help. But if i was breeding dogs which i am not i should look into spay/neutering, this to me is very shameless on there part. Now today i get a letter in the mail about licensing my dogs I dont personally own dogs and the 5 month old puppy in question has a condition that she wont get better from.So i know lets try to extort money from me. Your organization should be ashamed ofHow you do buissness. If i could i would give you zero stars

A clean and tidy animal shelter. The receptionist and staff are nice and warm welcome. They did introduce animals and things here.

Was in between living arrangements and had my dog stay there about 1 month. Was forced to neuter a show dog. And wasn't allowed to see the dog either. They were also told he was on a certain diet I needed to provide which also wasn't allowed so the dog lost 36 pounds during the month. Terrible place. My show dog almost died there. Should really be closed or get new management. Was treated very badly. Go to Hamilton SPCA instead. There was a manager that said my dog would be euthanized unless it was neutered. Thus when I got him back I wasn't able to show him and my income suffered. Only to find other shelters don't tell you there going to kill your dog and don't even force neutering on your dog.

I recently adopted my cat, Cher, from this shelter, and it was probably the best decision I’ve ever made. The adoption process was smooth and thorough, and it was clear our agent, Avery, loved and cared for the animals in her care so much. I’m so grateful for her support and I recommend adopting from here 100%.

Such wonderful, compassionate employees that work here. They made the passing of our family pet a lot easier. The sympathy card we received a few days later was also really kind ❤️

Following an application to adopt a pet, I was asked to do something extremely inhumane with my existing pet in order to meet their absurd requirements. Humane is apparently whatever they deem it to be, not what is best for pets.

We have had great success adopting 2 cats in succession from this shelter. Attached is the most recent Miss Phoebe. We previously had Melina. Both were beautiful animals who were exactly as described by shelter staff

Do not surrender your pet here. Even at the time when you surrender the pet, they charge you beyond what it was agreed upon. They first said the surrender fee is 60 then asking anther 120 for vaccination then more money for medication. They cooperate with some of the local vets, to blackmail you if you don’t go visit certain vet. Do not go there. Your pet wouldn’t even be taken care of. I surrender my pet there and paid 200 for the fees in total my perfectly healthy pet was dead 3 weeks after I surrendered it

Almost 2 months ago I adopted my kitty from this location. Such a great experience from start to finish. The Staff are incredible and continue to be a support system to Binx and I whenever I reach out. They go above and beyond in order to care for the all animals needs. Forever grateful, thank you! ❤️
