This brickless and mortarless bank caused my client, a student to lose her admission in August 2023 by failing to complete a bill payment to the school - Canadore College. Since then all efforts to get Tangerine Bank refund the money into our clients' trust account, so we can refund client failed. They have been holding on to about 3k belonging to a student, using people's money to trade or keeping it in your system is unethical.You have caused us a lot of inconvenience and distress by your deceptive and unhealthy financial practice.We made efforts to connect and follow through the complaints process after failed attempt to have your customer service team and leadership take ownership and responsibility for investigating and returning the money."Thank you for your email to the Tangerine Client Response Group, the second step in the Bank’s Complaint Handling Process. "This is long over the 3-4 weeks timeline you assured us in January 2024.It's been over 6 months that we have been waiting on resolution.If it were possible, I 'd have given you 0 star rating or -10

This company is horrible! I deposit a paycheck on Friday before Christmas and they will not release it until tomorrow!! That’s 10 days. Absolutely horrible.

Initially, I would've given Tangerine a 6 out of 5 a few years ago. Today, their customer service agents have poor communication skills, poor customer service tact and little understanding of their own products.I had been a huge fan of Tangerine for being the bank that broke away from the pack as as they offered a revolutionary no fees banking experience... But now I understand that you get what you pay for. At least with fees you get established branch locations that you can visit and speak to someone in person who will truly give a damn about your concerns, not hide away behind the telephone like "Isaiah", the last supervisor I spoke to did after he became hostile with me after I called him out for not knowing their own products!I complained to their Client Response Team over email and they got back to me relatively quick but they offered no apology for the bad experience I had. This was all over email, there's no other way to get in contact with anyone that holds a higher position than their poor excuse for a "customer service" team.I will be switching banks after this last awful experience (It will definitely not be Scotiabank either) and I encourage everyone to stay away.

Wish I could leave zero stars. Don't touch tangerine with a 10 foot pole. Worst bank in the world. I was supposed to receive my new client card in two weeks after my old one got lost. It's been a month and still nothing. I got lied to twice when I called customer service. They kept saying my card was sent but when I called again they said it wasn't sent. The beauty of it all is I waited on hold for an hour. Idk what these guys are doing but if they're gonna be this bad they might as well just close shop. I'm closing my account with them and going to someone else.

Tangerine has some features that are important to me. HOWEVER, customer service wait times are not acceptable. Should have a call back system in place for waits over 5 min. I have been on hold for 25 minutes now. I also had issues opening the account and accessing funds both through email transfers and at a Scotiabank ATM

I would give 0 stars if I could, this bank has got to be the worst bank ever to deal with. Almost everytime I wanna access my money they are closed for maintenance, this should be illegal. To with hold my money from me is not right. And trctally theft. When you call them, oh we are down for maintenance for 3 hours, yada yada

They sent me someone else's card. Call them, no help. Wife got money stollen from card due to fraud. Call them, no help.

This company relies on the mistakes of people with low-income, by getting charged fees onto your account and won't bother to lift a finger to give your money back. Unless you're rich, then they will help you get that $5 back because they expect rich people to bank with them ?They never used to be like this. They also recently screwed up my mortgage, so that's another reason why I'm switching banks.

2% cash back is amazing. And they give it every month unlike other credit cards.However, just because I used it a ton they canceled my account. Not nice!

They have had my GIC account deposit on hold for 5 months instead of 5 days. I get phone shuffled with no resolution. The Lost leading the Lost.

I wanted to use Tangerine Bank to deposit funds from my business, however Tangerine informs me that Business account users will not be able to download their transactions like other business banks allow. To not allow this basic function is clearly a deficiency in their service offering, so Tangerine won’t work as an account for any of funds from my business.Also; they need to make it easier to talk to support - phone queues can be over a half-hour waiting on the phone.Another very annoying thing with Tangerine: They don’t allow users to move funds at will. As it is Tangerine says you must talk to them, by waiting on phone for what can be a very long time, to move larger amounts.Finally: their online banking UI is antiquated. They could do better if they just copied what the larger Canadian banks do with their UI.

Adding onto the 1 star reviews, I noticed a fraudulent charge on my credit card, and reported it. Support agent told me to wait a month, and if I didn't hear back then everything was okay.3 months later, no word and interest still getting added on every day. Called again and after 6-7 hours in total of being on hold, they told me to screw off because I reported the charge to late.Absolutely would not recommend, no support agent can do anything meaningful but put you on hold for hours at a time.
