About The Comfie Cat Shelter
The Comfie Cat Shelter, located in Orillia, was established in 2005 as a no-kill sanctuary dedicated to helping abandoned and overpopulated cats. The shelter operates solely on volunteer support and does not receive government funding, allowing it to focus on providing love and care for its feline residents. The staff and volunteers are known for their caring, knowledgeable, and professional approach, ensuring that each cat is placed in a suitable home through a smooth adoption process. Adoption fees are reasonable and include essential services such as spaying/neutering and first vaccinations. The shelter also offers a seniors for seniors program, pairing senior cats with senior adopters at no cost. Many adopters express satisfaction with their experiences, highlighting the dedication of the volunteers and the positive impact of the shelter. Though there may be challenges, such as health issues leading to returned cats, the shelter’s commitment to providing excellent care and support remains strong. The Comfie Cat Shelter continues to be a vital resource for the community, rescuing and finding homes for countless cats while encouraging donations of food, toys, and litter.
