Having decided to start using Scotiabank, I walked into this bank to enquire about details for an account I opened a couple months ago but never used.
The cashier looked like I was wasting his time and sounded very dismissive about my questions - no smiles and not inviting at all.
All I wanted was a new card or at least just to know my Account number.
He asked if I had an ID on me. I didn’t but offered to show him a soft copy on my phone.
He declined and said he couldn’t view on my phone.
And that was it.
I actually thought there were ways of verifying ownership of accounts with my personal details.
Dude actually watched me walk away.
Well, I guess I won’t be using the bank again.

I love dealing with this branch - good customer service and pleasant staff. However, I wish someone would clean the ATM on the north side of the building. I'm tempted to wear gloves next time I need to use it.

Went into the branch this morning to deposit a cheque. A hold was put on it, as per policy but these can be lifted considering some factors, see picture below. The bank manage instantly refused to lift the hold. He did not ask me any questions on why I was making this request. I’ve been going to this branch for over 25 years, and NEVER had an issue with any cheques. Again, nothing was asked of me, nor did he look at my account. I will be switching banks, at the very least, branches.

Finally reached my last straw with this bank, after the machine ate my card they offered me exactly NOTHING. Without a card or access to my account for 3 days because they were closed all weekend. I’m also sick and tired of logging into online banking and having my accounts “not visible” for whatever reason.

worst bank ever! my mother in law just passed away recently and my wife and her brother were made power of attorney. so when it came to closing her accounts and using her money to pay for there late mothers mortgage, car payment, bills , 3 cats , etc. they said we had to open up an estate account first, fine. almost a month later all the paper work is in order , evebody has been called, pre authorization payments have been canceled the estate account can now be opened, great! but now there saying they can only release the funds if we pay for whatever needs to be payed for in her mothers name first, then bring the receipts to the bank, then they will release the funds for those amounts...they wont even let her add those recipients in the estate account so the payments can just come out .... when we called the mortgage company to tell them we cant pay them yet because the bank wont release the funds out of the estate account ,even they didnt understand why and pretty much said if the bank wont release the funds, theres nothing they can do, it has to be paid. she passed away near the end of july and since then ive had to sell my car, pawn all my jewelry, take out about 5 different loans just to be able to get to the her late mothers house so these dam cats dont die and now im completely out of options and its almost a 200k drive there and back and everyday and we have to do it. the money is there to take care of these things until we can figure out what has to be done with everything and theres more then enough to pay for everything so i dont get why there doing this to us. its a dumb policy or whatever they wanna call it but in the end the money belongs to my wife and her brother. every sigle possession that my mother in law had went to my wife and her brother except her money???I've made a complaint and called almost everyday since then just to get updates and in the 7 days since ive made the complaint, the branch manager has not responded. this is completely unacceptable, we can barely afford to pay for all our own expenses and now we have to pay for a whole new set of expenses? the money is there for them to pay these expenses. i have never seen my wife cry so much in the past 15 years ive been with her and the 20 plus years ive known her and its completely this branches fault. you guys are ruining our lives and i wont let this stand.

The drive thru never works when I go to use it. The staff don’t tend to listen to what you’re saying and make the process more complicated and time consuming than need be. If I could I’d do all my banking online.I would like to add: the entire company has horrible service. I wish I could leave a general review. When there was noticeable fraud on my credit card they cancelled it but have not issued me a new one so now I have no way of paying my bills. I have asked 3-4 different people in person at my branch and through their customer service line and each of them is unable to issue me a new card. Very frustrating, will be leaving this bank now. It’s easier for me to get a new card as a new bank member than an existing client.

I am very surprised at all the negative reviews. When I first moved to Orleans four years ago, I had to go to three different Scotiabank branches to have a problem fixed. This branch was the third one I tried, and they were able to fix my problem right away, unlike the previous two branches I tried. I therefore chose them as my home branch and am glad I did. I have come here regularly in the past four years and they have always been highly competent and polite. There is almost never a lineup. Also, I love that they open on Saturdays.

What a bad bank. I’ve been a customer at the bank of Nova Scotia for at least 50 years now multiple loan multiple mortgage. and this is not the first time at that bank that they’re in a bad mood.Lost my Visa card I go in just for a replacement card, young lady that serve me,. She looked in a bad mood with the rest of them. I think they didn’t want to be there and this was on a Saturday ,tells me it’s as to be done online that there’s no way she can actually do this at the bank(Extremely rude) so I didn’t feel like arguing with her sometime, you need to pick your battles.So about three weeks later, I go down in Rockland all French no issue talk to the young man extremely extremely polite ,took him not even five minute to issue me a new card that will be coming by mail. What’s the problem?I know nothing will come out of this, but I just needed to vent.Not looking for anything but manager you need to talk to your employees if they don’t know the rules, they don’t know the rules.You need somebody out there with experience.I am done with that bank. It’s too bad after 50 years I grew up in the small town where everything was personal back in the days and everybody knew you. It’s not like that anymore.Thank u
