The owners have no manners, very rude, especially to kids. Part of being a business owner is to know a thing or two about customer service which they don't. If you need a convenience store go the Orono General store, Ian is amazing and the store is great! For LCBO, or Beer go to Kendal Variety Store 5 min away.

I will say almost all of the time my experiences in the store are great. Reading some of the other messages I can say I can relate to some of them. I can only imagine how hard it could be dealing with the public I know I couldn't do it Because I would do and say stupid stuff probably ending up in jail again. I do not recommend any owner of any store to read comments because there just people letting off steam and can make people say or do stupid things that they wouldn't normally do. The real world is much different than the online world.

Went to the store yesterday, made a purchase then about 15 minutes later my mom went and when she came back she said the wife who works their is saying I stole a lighter and how she’s gunna plaster me all over town!! She’s just waiting to view the video.. I’m not worried because I didn’t take anything, but does this mean I can put her picture up around town for accusing people of theft?!? Sadly this isn’t the first time either, she blamed my brother for stealing a bottle of water because is was cold so it must of came from her fridge! They no how to falsely accuse people but don’t no how to apologize for it.

Stopped in the town of Orono and had breakfast across the road from this convenience store. Made the mistake of going into this store as it is dirty, poorly stocked, disorganized and the older man behind the counter is extremely rude and ignorant. 3 of us left there and couldn’t believe how a little town like this has someone so mean and rude in it as the town seems quaint, sweet and interesting. Breakfast was good but this store soured our visit. Avoid it at all costs.

I feel bad that I have to write this review. I feel even worse that it is about a business in my beloved hometown. In short, before you consider buying at Mister Convenience in Orono, try anywhere else nearby first.As a resident of Orono my entire life (born and raised, and now raising my own family here) it is unfortunate that one of the only times I have felt passionate enough to write a review is going to be a negative one.It has always been important to me to support local businesses, especially here in Orono when we need it most. But, (in my opinion) it is owners like this that are driving people and businesses away from our amazing little town.My wife has refused to shop here for almost 2 years now after multiple negative experiences with the older man (there are 3 people running the store). I have always given benefit of doubt and continued to shop here myself. I have finally had enough negative experiences of my own that I have decided to purposely travel to Newcastle or other nearby towns to get what I need if I cannot get it from other shops in Orono.I decided to write this review after having yet another negative experience with the older male at this location. I believe he is one of the the owners. The older woman and son (again I am inferring who they are) have always been very kind and I have never had an issue with. The older male however, is very rude , unfriendly and very unwelcoming (totally not the vibe that represents Orono). Personally, I hesitate to go inside if I see he's working, but there are few other options in Orono.Also, just fyi - the credit and debit machine 'sometimes' charges a fee (25 cents for debit, 50 cents for credit) but it is never consistent. One day you can 'tap' your card without a fee for a purchase, the next day you have to 'insert' your card and approve the 'mandatory fee'. I'm not sure if this is an actual issue with the machine, but as a regular customer it gives you the feeling like they are trying to overcharge you (i.e. today you pay extra to use machine/tomorrow maybe not).Sorry to rant, but It is unfortunate that after 35+ years without ever (negatively) writing a review, that I felt had to write this.
