We brought in a pre-existing unstuffed doll—purchased by our neighbor many years ago—to be stuffed, and they did not disappoint. They recognized that it was older, yet fully honored it and gave us such a magical experience.
Beth was absolutely wonderful—kind, playful, and so thoughtful with our shy little girl. She connected with her so naturally that my husband and I found ourselves feeling like happy children too, watching the magic unfold alongside our daughter.
Beth, as someone who works with children, I can honestly say we need more people who communicate with kids the way you do. Thank you for creating such a special moment for our family & making our first Build-a-Bear experience a positive one!

amazing staff, went in for my first time not knowing where to go or what to do, staff were very enthusiastic, helpful, and friendly. Janay (not sure if i spelled it right i'm sorry) and Beth were especially helpful at the counter when transactions weren't going well and i was getting stressed, but they were very understanding and suggested many ideas to help me and get this gift ready for the holidays. it was a wonderful experience, thank you both

Staff are super helpful and friendly. But it was super busy on a Saturday that they forgot to tell us the certificates are no longer being printed and it was a QR code. Now we have to go back to retype it and scan the code at store on another visit.

Every child has to experience build a bear! (And that’s just my strong opinion lol)
The varieties of bears to choose from is great. - I was excited so I know my daughter was.
They have songs and scents for the bears now which is really fun.
I treated myself to a bear as well! Because these stuffies last forever; I still have mine from when I was younger.
NOTE: you can bring you build a bear in to be re-stuffed for free. The outside is washable and the inserts the give you last years. - yesterday I walked into my daughters room and it smelt like strawberries (the scent we picked)! too cute.

I walked with an excited child ready to for her first build a bear experience. We were not greeted by any of the three employees in the store. We were the only customers in the store at the time and the three ladies were chatting with each other about the stores Google reviews. I let my daughter get started and choose the bear she wanted. This took about 15 minutes, still none of the employees interacted with us. She finally picked her bear and I looked around to get the attention of any staff, but still nothing. My daughter went over to look at the clothing. At this time a couple entered the store. They were immediately greeted and served. One of the employees began filling their bear while the two others were gathered on the computer looking at Google reviews. I took my daughter to stand behind the couple that were being served to wait in line, but to no avail. I told my daughter I will take her to another location. We put the bear back and left the store still unaddressed or notice by the staff.
Very disappointing. Hopefully this review will get the attention we should have received in store.

I went in today excited to get my son his bday bear . It was our first time and I told the staff his bday is TODAY. They told me to pick a bear.. so we did. I get to cash and see $80 on the screen I asked where’s the bday special. She asked me when his birthday is .. I said it’s today… she said “oh right. There’s a bday bear he can get for $2 add on” I said no the reason we came in here is to get the bday bear but I wasn’t informed it was a completely different bear. She said “well we already made this bear and he can come back for the $2 bear anytime this month” My son was upset and crying so I paid for the bear and left. I called them and someone told me I need to be part of the club to get the promo… once again it was never mentioned to me! Please let people know about these things

Had an amazing time building a bear here, they were very accommodating and kind, I really love how it still looks like it did when I was a child in the early 2000’s it really adds to the charm! I hope they never change it!

Build a bear Oshawa has the most confused staff. What a terrible experience. Do not recommend.

Came in on Sunday for my daughters first build a bear experience and it was a wonderful time, the 3 ladies working made it easy and memorable for her and accomodated us in every way, including helping us with the birth certificate for her stuffed frog.
Thank you to all 3 of you - great service.
Would be 5 stars but the price for clothing add ons is insane/over priced- this is not on the staff or in anyway related to them/their service.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My girlfriend and I visited this Build-A-Bear location excited to make our bears, but the experience was frustrating from the start. We grabbed our bears and joined the queue, waiting patiently behind a boy celebrating his birthday, which was completely fine, as he was ahead of us. But once the staff switched over, the new employee completely ignored the actual queue and called over someone who had just walked in, asking, “You were first, right?” It was incredibly frustrating after already waiting so long. On top of that, the staff in general seemed totally unbothered and uninterested in helping anyone. No smiles, no engagement, it felt like they didn’t want to be there, and they made no effort to create the fun, welcoming atmosphere you expect from Build-A-Bear. We were so annoyed that we ended up putting our bears back and leaving. We went to a different Build-A-Bear elsewhere and had a much better experience. Definitely won’t be returning to this location.
