A few years ago, Costco switched all their executive member accounts to CIBC.
Since becoming their client, it is just one nightmare after another with their card.
The worst issue is that the card always got cut off while I was in the US, even though I told them I was going there and authenticated it several times. Before they switched to CIBC, I relied on my costco card in the US for decades and never experienced a hiccup. Relying on my CIBC card turned my only 2 vacations with them into a nightmare.
I filed a claim with CIBC for repeatedly cutting off my card while in the US. It was escalated to their highest level. The investigator came up with the implausible explanation that I repeatedly entered my PIN wrong, so it was my fault. She didn't care what the real issue was, and she said if I don't like it I have to sue.
I would have liked to know what happened so I could prevent this in the future, but the investigator was combatant and stuck to her made up story.
No professional integrity whatsoever.
Beware, never bank with CIBC outside of Canada.
Also, never bank with CIBC period, unless no other bank will take you.

You know it's stupid that my bank puts a hold on my account all for what not haveing the proper ID and I had a picture of it now I can't use the ATM this is completely low on there ends

ATM doors lock at 5pm even if there is a full line of people & employees in the room. Just need to use an ATM but wouldn’t let one more person into a busy building.

Worst experience. I’m a international student who got his account hacked. I try to explain the seriousness of the situation. They said I have to make an appointment but I’m seeing the office empty and staffs walking around chilling .Not sure what’s going on. Dislike the service…..

Don't use CIBC!!! Beware as they have very strict policies that restrict you from using your own money how you want to. They have refused to transfer my own money and is leaving me stranded in a third world country!! Absolutely beyond ridiculous and Heartless.

Went in to get a new card the lady at the front desk was very nice and cordial to me but I was told to wait for someone to be able to do it for me.I wasn't given a time limit but I wasn't going to assume that it wasn't going to I was going to take more than 5 to 10 minutes. I waited over 45 minutes 2 for a card that no one ever made I had to leave because it was such a long time. Someone should have been notified about me waiting I understand that there were only two people that could have done it. They were with clients but I should have been notified of this so I wouldn't waste my time it was very frustrating to sit there and not get any service it's not acceptable. I even got a parking ticket due to this because I had been parked for too long
