Called Kevin up with an emergency transmission problem on my 2010 Pontiac G5. Two other auto repair shops had told me it would take thousands of dollars to repair and I was better of replacing the car. When I arrived I described the issue to Kevin and to my shock and amazement he immediately said he thought he knew what the issue was and that he could fix it. One story short....fixed at a small fraction of the costs quoted by others in 24 hours...amazing!! You have a loyal customer for life, Kevin!!

I thought my transmission was shot (lurching, shaking, high RPMs, high trans fluid temp etc) and brought it to Kevin. He had quoted a great price for the full transmission job.
He called to let me know that the transmission looked good but that he would tune the software and upgrade the cooler bypass. The truck drives better than the day I bought it used. Shifts are SO smooth, there's no lurching when slowing or increasing speed AND the engine shake at idle has even disappeared.
Thank you for your guidance and insights along the way. Highly recommend.

Nobody wants to need transmission work done, but at least this is an honest, skillful, and thoughtful place to go. They do their work the right way, and pay attention to the details of what they do. I would highly recommend Durham Transmission.

Found Durham Transmission via google search and read great reviews, recently brought my car in as needed a new transmission. As someone who sometimes feels a bit intimidated dealing with car maintenance, Kevin was amazing and broke down my options as well as told me what I’d be expecting cost wise. After Christmas when he was available my car was in the shop maybe 48hours? Way less time than I was expecting and extremely fair and transparent with the cost. I’d highly recommend.

My SUV was making a weird, annoying noise. Friendly, professional and above all else honest. Dealership quoted 2500$ for a valve body replacement on my Subaru crosstreck.
