Walter’s Pharmacy on Simcoe St. South is so much more than a place that dispenses medication. It is a place where you are genuinely cared for. I moved to Oshawa three and a half years ago, and transferring my medications felt overwhelming, but they made the entire process easy and stress free. They were also some of the first friendly faces I knew here.

The pharmacist and staff truly go above and beyond. It is a completely judgment free space where they know your name, notice if you are overdue, check in when things are hard, and even help with delivery when you are in a bind. They have supported me through some very challenging moments in my life, and I honestly consider them part of my medical team, not just my pharmacy. They have seen me during my highs and lows and treated me with dignity whether I was dressed for work or in my pyjamas with my hair a mess.

Mina- The pharmacist’s dedication to the community, including volunteering his time to ensure vulnerable people have access to the medications they need, says everything about the level of care you will receive here. Despite what some may assume about the neighbourhood, I have been safe and respected. No one is going to bother you.

I have sent my son after an anaphylactic episode and I couldn’t be there. I called to let them know he was coming and it was his first time getting meds alone and a new epi pen was all ready for him. They greeted him like they knew him for years and ensured he was feeling better. It warms my heart.

If you are tired of feeling like just a number at a big chain pharmacy, having to keep track of the days, waiting for hours and getting miscounts and you want personal, compassionate service, this is the place to go. This is hands down the best pharmacy I have ever been to.

Side note: Even their over the counter meds are priced so well 100 Gravol (different brand same ingredient) approx. $10 - at Shoppers or even Walmart I would get 10 tablets - and if they don’t have somethinf they will order it for you (Vitamins, Tylenol, Creams). They will work with your insurance (al types) and make sure you pay the least amount possible. They also have all the diabetes supplies one needs…so if you’re diabetic I know it’s daunting to change pharmacies but you can and you won’t regret it.”

“I called in to this pharmacy looking for a specific type of medicine for my daughter. Though they didn’t have what I was looking for, the woman I spoke to, Laura, was so incredibly helpful that I had to leave a review for her. Normally I’m lucky if I get two seconds of interaction with a pharmacy over the phone, but Laura didn’t make me feel rushed at all, and spent quite a while talking to me without it feeling like I was taking up too much of her time!
I explained to her that I have trouble medicating my child because she isn't quite at the point where she can swallow pills, but she hates the taste of liquid medicine for kids.
Laura told me that she empathized, because of her child having similar issues, and she referenced a powdered Tylenol for kids that she uses for her son that apparently tastes just like candy, and I was totally unaware that something like that existed!
Now I’m so glad I called in and got to chat with Laura, because this product should make my life a whole lot easier when my kid is sick!
So even though I wasn’t able to get the product I needed from this pharmacy today….entirely because of Laura, I will absolutely be giving this business my patronage where ever I can in the future!
It’s so hard to find good cx service these days, so this pharmacy should hold on tight to this employee, because she absolutely earned them new business today!”

“5 stars better still, 10 stars. Tim and Kim and staff are the most amazing staff with first hand knowledge and experience and expertise in all of our health care needs. They are always accommodating specially when I forget to call my prescriptions in, I never have to worry because they get it all together while I wait. Unlike other pharmacies where in the past I’ve had to wait or go back in 1-2 hours. I have never had a problem whatsoever at Ritson Pharmacy. I highly recommend Ritson Pharmacy 1000% and will always deal with them because of the way they treat me and my wife, just like family. They are incredible.”

“I didn't want to go to my family doctor. Instead I went to North Oshawa Pharmacy. I told a pharmist by the name of M/S Shristi that my right eye is very sticky and I can't see from that eye, as the eye lids were closed. I had a consultation on the same day with Sistri. She prescribed an eye drop medication.
She said that she would follow up in couple of days time.She left a message on my phone to see how I am doing.
Believe me, it took 4 days before my right eye was cleared.I would recommend any one to see a pharmist as they take time to prescribe the right medication. Bravo to Sistri for a job well done !
