Only giving one star as I had to put something in. I called a week ago and made an appointment for my daughter to take our car in. Unfortunately this establishment lived up to the reputation of dirty car guys trying to take advantage of a young girl. Our car had work done by a licensed mechanic last week, the people at Stephenson’s Steering tried to tell my daughter that the car needed multiple things done to it equaling $1300 before they could do the alignment, including things that were fixed last week. After reading more reviews I see that only 4 months ago a girl named Lauren had the same kind of experience with Stephenson’s. Looks like they are constantly trying to take advantage of young girls, definitely steer clear of Stephenson’s Steering!!!!!!

It’s amazing the similarities between my story and Lauren Mitchell 4 months ago. Young girl who’s mechanic says your good to go for winter after replacing a tie Rod just get yourself an alignment because I don’t do them. Lo and behold I need $1300 worth of work control arms tie rods and such. What a scam. Don’t use this place for anything very untrustworthy. Thank God all I lost was the mandatory $60 test drive and analysis Their response was there’s a knock come by we’re happy to show you. Yeah right $60 I got off cheap from your scam garage.

Have taken my vehicles here 3 times now, and both times, the service was friendly and excellent. The techs and staff were honest and didn't try to up sell products and services. There were recommendations for both vehicles that were spot on. Would definitely recommend this place for auto repairs, especially when it is hard to find an honest place to take your vehicles.

Today my first experience here is great. Very neat and clean office, cooperative staff and above all quality work at a cheaper rates, compare to other workshops nearby. Overall i'm 100% satisfied with the service and will surely recommend others also to come here, for any tire, suspension or mechanical work. Good Job.

The people here are nice but i feel like they pick and choose what work they wanna do, i had an alignment booked and because my reverse wasn't working they denied doing the alignment, i even offered to help push it if need be and the tech complained about it being a tight area in the back, i went to a different place that was way tighter than theirs and they did it with 0 issues. 2 stars for the lady in front being nice but thats it.

I am Glad I am knowledgeable about my truck, otherwise walking into this place would have been one expensive mistake.
This place made me feel as if they were trying to take advantage of the fact that I was a young girl walking into a shop alone.
I went in for an alignment. They told me they couldn’t do my alignment as “all four of my ball joints and my glide pin were toast” and Gave me the speech about how this is a safety issue I need to address right away.
I have heavy duty after market upper and lower control arms, They are fairly new(about a year) so the red flag went up right away. My truck was also at a different shop a week prior getting work don’t and nothing was mentioned about these parts then.
I have all the print outs Stephenson’s gave me quoting me for well over a 1,600$ job to correct these “issues”. I got a bad feeling and told them to take it off the hoist and I was coming to get it. They charged me 63$ for “assessing my truck” I wasn’t happy about it but I paid the fee and left. I checked my balljoints and saw no issues. Fast forward to 5-6 days later I have now had not one, not two but THREE other professional mechanics check these parts and confirm that they are in fact in great working order. GILMOUR’S in Oshawa did my alignment no problem after confirming the parts were good. If you are needing work on a truck with modifications I would HIGHLY recommend Gilmour’s instead of this shop!

Great service in the shop and at the front desk. Very friendly and efficient Have been going to this shop for many years for alignments. Have had to go back to dealerships to get alignments redone. These guys get it done right the first time.

Everyone kept telling me I NEED to come here if I need anything suspension related. Well, they fixed ONE of TWO issues (both of which were discussed beforehand), clunking in the front and pulling to the right. They fixed the clunking in the front but car still pulls to the right same as before. I KNEW an alignment had to be done afterwards but I HIGHLY doubt anyone road tested it after as if anyone did, they would have called and said there's something else wrong. I had all the work done before the holidays (my mistake for waiting so late) so I had to wait 2 weeks before telling them the car is still pulling to the right."Oh right, there was something else in the rear end we need to fix" Ok... well why wasn't this mentioned to me when I was called to pick up my car and even when I was THERE to pick up my car? "Oh, should be on your paperwork" Nope, not there. "Bring it in and we'll look at it." In 15 years of dealing with mechanics, I have NEVER had a single mechanic forget to tell me there's something else wrong with my car. Every. Single. Time. I have picked up my car, every mechanic will tell me what was fixed, and if they noticed anything else that might need to be looked at.Guaranteed no one drove my car after the alignment and guaranteed I won't be returning.I assume there's a reason why there's some many 1 star negative reviews in the last year or so, owner or head mechanic retired and tanked.
