Oshawa Value Village had many items priced fairly. There were lots of treasures for the hunt.
There was a large fully stocked showcase, a larger display than most stores I have seen.
The shelves were fairly organized.
They utilized the end shelf of the isles for the eye pleasing merchandising technique of arranging items by featuring a color.
One piece of criticism I have is concerning the customer bathroom.
I was in the store very close to its opening time and there was an unwelcoming “washroom cleaning in progress” Pylon propping the ladies bathroom door open. There was absolutely no one cleaning and if cleaning was needed why was this not completed before the customers entered? I found this closed restroom reflects poorly on the customer service here.

They have a great variety of items and I truly enjoy perusing but you need to carefully check each item for damage and their pricing is getting high.

It's a good corporation, I've shopped at Value Village stores throughout the US. The only Value Village stores I've shopped at in Canada is this Oshawa store and the Whitby one. Like any typical thrift store, they have a wide variety of products in decent to great condition. I'd have to say my only issue with this one particular Value Village in Oshawa, is that they tend to be highly suspicious of their paying customers. If you are a younger person or even middle-aged, you can guarantee if you linger too long in aisle, you'll have a pair of eyes on you shortly. Likewise, checking out. They'll stand directly behind you to make sure you're paying. I'm not so sure that I'm happy about the clerk standing behind me watching me punch in my PIN code to my debit card. I didn't know clerks were allowed to do that. They do have an on-site security guard, but the security guard is much more polite and professional about guarding the store than the clerks who seem to want to take it upon themselves to be the guard. I've never stolen anything in my life and I have no desire to be treated like a criminal so I've moved on to the Whitby store which is a MUCH better atmosphere.

If I could give 10 Stars I would!! I shop here A lot! My Favourite Value Village! I Always see Fauzia and Gail at the checkout and they are always so kind and helpful! Even walking through the store is always very clean and organized.

I genuinely love shopping at this location, but today left a really bad taste in my mouth. I had purchased 2 cups a week prior and realized they weren’t what I needed so I came back to see if I could maybe do an exchange of some sort. I was rudely told by the customer attendant Tara “ No exchanges on home wares” I then brought up that it only stated on the receipt, exchanges on clothing and shoes and wanted to see if maybe I could do something as I had spent a lot of money on this item. She continued to be belligerent towards me, and I left the items that I came to return on the counter because I won’t be spoken to that way. When reading through other reviews on here, it seems other customers have not had a pleasurable shopping experience with the same attendant maybe retraining should be a focus for her

Why buy anything here when you can pay the same price or even less for the same item brand new at the store it originally came from? Whoever controls pricing should feel really gross about it.
