The worse one o have ever visited.Things are way overpriced..most of the stuff, you cab get new for the same price or less. Their clothes and shoes selection is also filthy. Especially their shoes.I would not recommend shopping there.

Extremely rude staffWent to buy from here, and there were no cashiers, only self checkouts. I’m lot a fan of self check o it s and I try to avoid them. I politely asked the lady working (maybe a manager) if there were any checkouts open as I was not a fan of the machine ones. She sarcastically said “here’s, a person who’s not a machine” and sent me to a self checkout with the self checkout help staff beside it…… I don’t appreciate the sarcasm especially when I looked up to see they did in fact open the regular checkout as I was finishing the self checkout.

One of the better value villages in the gta, has a decent amount of good stuff and cool old tech, some of the stuff is very pricey though

GENERALIZED, STEREOTYPED, DISCRIMINATED!!! (My experience today)My kids had swimming lessons at a nearby gym. To kill some time, my wife and I decided to walk into this Value Village at Ritson and Taunton. My goal was to buy some used picture frame so I proceeded to the houseware section. I walked around, picked up a couple of frames and went over to where my wife was. My wife picked up a number of items and we continue to walk around. For 40mins of being there, I was approached by one of the employees. The lady goes “Sir, please do not put anything in your bag before you pay for it”, to which I replied “sorry?”. She said that it is “store policy that they tell every customers to not put anything in their bag”. I said, “I did not put anything in my bag”. To which she shrugged me off and walked away! The duffle bag I was carrying was filled with my kids clothes for after they are done with swimming. After this, I could not spend another minute of my time in this store. I felt generalized, stereotyped, and discriminated. Value Village major demographics are low income, perhaps middle income too. It does not mean that people of this socio-economic background in your store, will STEAL!!! NEVER HAVE I EXPERIENCED THIS AT ANY STORE. THIS IS WRONG!!!!

They don’t have change rooms anymore, but don’t offer refunds. None of the money they get from selling stuff goes to charity. Support local thrift stores instead! There are so many better options in Durham than value village.

I came back to return an item and I wanted to purchase a shirt for me and my son. I picked out a shirt for $4.99. I went to self checkout and asked for someone to do the return and to buy my items. The girl that came over to help refused to sell me me the shirt for $4.99 and took the shirt and repriced it to $9.99. The customer should not have to pay for your mistake if you priced the item wrong. I left the stuff I wanted to buy and the shirt I came to return and left the store because I had to leave to pick up my son from school . I will no longer be dropping off bags and bags of donations to value village and I no longer will be shopping at this store or advising any of my friends to come here. They are taking donations for free and pricing their items so outrageously. They are not honest people especially the girl in the black apron and colourful hair. Discusting experience.

We were multiple donors in Ottawa. We had a wooden coffee table in good condition which was surplus to needs in Oshawa. It was refuse because they already had some on the floor. Not even a thank you attempting to donate it. RESTORE happily took it.

My relationship with this Value Village is operating in a professional capacity within logistics. Today while engaging in business I was mocked by one of the store managers, after relaying factual information on what she claimed was false. When asked what date the 16th was I took a moment and said hmm thinking, to which she mocked my by stuttering “uhhhh uhhhh ahhhh huuuu” in front of my colleague. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Truly used to rate this somewhere between 4 and 5 stars, as I LOVED thrifting here. You can still find some pretty great things every once in a while, but I HATE that they removed fitting rooms. And if your clothing doesn't fit, you have I think a week or two to exchange it... But that depends on if you are able to find something else to replace it in that time. I think they either need to bring back fitting rooms or have a full refund??♀️.Not trying to centre out this location because it's across the board, I'm just really not a fan of the change and don't understand why they even did it.

Very Poor Service, a black woman kept approaching me making me feel uncomfortable and implied that i am upto no good. Kept saying "Dont forget to scan that" before i left she also said "The paper bags are not free here" Although i already paid for it. Lastly asked to see my reciept. Very offensive made me feel like a criminal.

Buying thrift is always better for the environment. Sometimes you find nothing, sometimes you find a bunch! It's fun to look. On my most recent trip, I found 10 items, but I'll have to exchange 2. I wish there were change rooms.

It is really good place to buy sandals at low price. Also, a very good place to buy furniture and electronics at low price.I think the clothes are not in the low range as I cud find those clothes at other websites on low price.

They have a great selection of secondhand items, everything from clothing to electronics. This is my go-to place when I am looking for brand-name clothing at a discounted price. You can also find a large selection of DVDs and books at any time. With the option of going to a cashier or self-checkout, the line-ups are usually quite quick.Staff in the store is always friendly and can help you find what you are looking for.

Value for money items. Old but some items are in good conditions.
