I wish I could give this place zero stars for how rude, ignorant and useless the staff are here. Shopped here close to Black Friday. They had a sale buy one get two free. Bought a bunch of stuff and spent close to $400. Told the cashier these were Christmas gifts and can I return/exchange after Christmas. Was told yes. Was given gift receipts for all items purchase including a regular receipt. When one pair of pants and one shirt didn’t fit my son, we went back to exchange. We were told no. I showed them the receipt I had along with the gift receipt. I was again told no. When I asked why they told me that the sale I purchased from were final sale. They told me my receipt said final sale. I took a look at my receipt again. It did not say this anywhere.I even showed them that it did not say it! I checked the gift receipt. Also not there. Plus why give a gift receipt if you can’t exchange or return? Makes zero sense!!!! The girl working even told me, “ so when the sale started West 49 head office didn’t tell us they would be final sale so we didn’t know to tell our customers”. So I guess head office made an error and the customers suffer for it. Not exactly the way to keep customers. The guy working told me I was out of luck. It’s disgusting to see these companies take such advantage of their customers. The people here are liars. Then the staff is extremely rude telling the customer it’s their fault that West 49 screwed up. Overall, this experience was so awful I’ll never go back. Didn’t realize such a big store would be so petty with their customers.

I visited this store to do a return for an item I purchased online. Right away I was refused, making it feel like it was my mistake although it was a west49 online mistake. Staff at the store didn't even make an attempt to understand the situation but was ever ready with a BIG "NO" set in their mind!!Wayne (manager) bragged that he has been at that store for 12 years and it seems like 12 years in retail hasn't thought him any service skills at all as his small thinking on customer service, Wayne went on to show his authority by accusing me of trying to take advantage and this is when I explained it was the store online mistake he then defended saying it was my mistake i.e - CUSTOMER IS WRONG CONCEPT!!I had to make my second trip and this time to Return the entire order and the sales associate ROSEMARY (OMG her nasty service attitude) just the proof on how Horrible service is a contagious at the WEST49 OSHAWA CENTER !During my first visit ROSEMARY misled me of the online return policy as 30 days. A gimmick to make me go beyond the policy and then they can refuse the return all together.. luckily I checked on the policy and when I mentioned that the policy she advised was wrong then ROSEMARY claimed they would have accepted the return beyond the regular return policy if the customer was nice ..LOL it seem they have double standards for their customers!! When I attempted to ask for the Managers name to take note she assumed I was asking for the name of other retail staff in the office at that time and she pounced saying you don't need to know his name! obviously she was training the other staff how to provide condescending service to their customers I felt bad for that other guy who was speechlessly staring at cash register. Then with a lot of arrogance ROSEMARY completed my return (remember just returning one item lead to returning the whole order)I stepped out of the store and understanding the irrational behavior of ROSEMARY made me take a look at the return receipt and realized ROSEMARY has refunded less then what was owed back. Well Well .. ROSEMARY you are so focused on fighting with your customers you need to first understand simple Math of plus and minus!!When I returned back to the store and when ROSEMARY saw me she was so ticked she murmured oh my god!! Displaying her irritation and as she walked to the registry she was asking me WHAT NOW!! when I brought to her attention that she had SHORT CHANGED and I am owed money back .. she was more furious .. ROSEMARY looked at the receipts and said of it's only a Dollar change... when I said DOLLAR IS A DOLLAR and that work hard for my dollar she tried to twist the conversation by falsely accusing that I was saying she is not working for her dollar.. all I had to say was if the cap fits put it on!!Huffing and puffing she refunded the difference.Over the last couple of years, I have made couple thousand dollars of online purchases with WEST49 and be assured that WEST49 HAVE LOST OUR BUSINESS FOR GOOD AND I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE!

Really love the product and staff but I am a parent and can’t get into the aisles with my stroller, also their accessibility change room is typically closed and filled with product. Really love the product sold but not happy with accessibility :(

The staff are wonderful. My son came to buy a scooter with his own money last night. The fellow that helped him was amazing. He talked him through everything, put it together for us and told us all about some great places to go. He talked to my kiddo dude to dude, which made him feel so cool. I wish I had his name to give him the proper credit he deserves. Truly wonderful experience that deserves acknowledged. The ladies at the registers were great as well, super personable, charming and funny! Thanks for giving a couple boys a great experience spending their hard earned money.
