Love this place for Chinese groceries. I think some of you folks are confused cause products imported from China print the date of production on them not the expiry date

Not a bad place, has a lot of Hong Kong snacks, and the food portions are relatively OK (I would say portions need to be a bit bigger for the proteins). The staff was friendly. Paying an extra $1 for the wonton is OK (handmade, on the spot, but need to make it bigger, as my 3 wantons were mainly dough).

Used to really like this shop but in the last few months they've mostly stopped adding prices or even name tags to new items. They often have lower prices than their competitors but without price tags, I don't want to take the risk. And without name tags, it can be difficult to even know what some products are.

Star for product, its selection is very unique for Ottawa, though overpriced, as it is more of a small corner store rather than a grocery store or supermarket. The entrance is confusing and is shared with an adjoining restaurant. I received no greeting and I thought the service was very poor. Language barriers could be the issue and maybe the store caters to a certain cultural demographic, but even so, you can still be present and welcoming. If someone is struggling to find a product, you assist them, you don't sit and watch them on security cameras.

Really hard to get in. It turned out that the entry was the restaurant next to it. And it’s bad to scam your customer to label something with sugar and calories as 0 cal+0carb (you even mark it 7 sugar bruh). People with diabetes may drink it and suffer.

As a student, I value the affordable prices and top-quality service. Minh Wright's nail art is consistently beautiful and unique. Love it!

This was my first visit. Excellent shop with lots of great importeded food and snacks in a small market area. They also have a restaurant with a variety of food items. Didn't order any food this visit, but I hope to try their menu on my next visit to Ottawa.

Inside the Hong Kong Express, there is a small Asian convenience store with many products. It sells a wide variety of snacks, food and tea drinks from China, Japan and Korea. Because it is connected to a restaurant, I always have the desire to buy something after eating. The price is quite fair, like a bottle of Japanese tea is 2.79-3.5 plus tax.Note that the seasonings and frozen foods need to go through the restaurant, which some customers may not notice. Sometimes it is open until 10:30 and sometimes around 9:00. For people who live near around Rideau st. the location is easy to find.Overall, it's an interesting store to visit after dinner.4.9/5
