I enjoyed a very pleasant meal, General Tao's chicken, with a side of white rice (additional charge), and the Pepper Soft shell crab appetizer at Bambu's. My dining colleagues had a variety of dishes which were all also enjoyed. Service was friendly and attentive, and the TGIF wine special FANTASTIC. Bambu is a nicely decored restaurant and highly recommended for a nice casual meal

Miso soop was good, came in a bowl larger than you would expect. Shanghai noodles were good however the noodles were smaller than the customary udon noodle size. The shrimp, squid and scallops in the salt and pepper seafood were cooked really well. The batter was thicker than what you typically get when ordering salt and pepper shrimp with the heads and tails on. Good variety of sushi, limited and pricy selection of sashimi. Overall, a pleasant experience.

My wife and I were looking for a restaurant since we were running errands in Ottawa. Very impressed plates are generous and well priced and bonus great service. We will be back again for sure.

Kevin is the best server we have EVER come across! It was our daughter's 21st birthday and Bambu was her choice. Kevin was friendly, helpful, had a sense of humour.....and brought our daughter a birthday slice of cheese cake! He made our meal :) Thank you Kevin and Bambu for a great family dinner!

Every once in a while you are fortunate enough to meet a staff member who takes average and makes it makes it well above par. So it was with this young man, Kevin. Let me start by saying that there is really nothing that set the food at this restaurant apart from the myriad of other above average oriental restaurants in the greater Ottawa area. When our group of four arrived we were met by two young ladies who were checking the vaccination status of clients. Both of these young ladies had the combined personality of a tired sloth. We were then guided to a table by a third young lady who simply walked us to a table, and then walked away. So much for first impressions The table was clean and the other tables were properly spaced given the current conditions in place It was then that we met Kevin. What a refreshing change. He exuded personality form the outset. He took our drink orders and then suggested that we might want to place our food orders as the kitchen staff was very busy and it might be a while before the meals could be delivered. When our drinks arrived he remembered, with a touch of humor each order. As he took the orders, he did not up-sell, but rather just the opposite suggesting that we did nt want to ask for too much. During the meal service he came my to make sure our water glasses were full, and when he saw empty serving plates he removed them so the table was less cluttered. When the bills were presented he walked back a distance to allow the on line payment to be made in privacy. As we were getting ready to leave he talked a bit about himself and told us how pleased he was to be in Canada and just a bit about his family. He made point of thanking us for our patronage. As we were leaving the two young ladies at the front forget to say two things; (1) thank you and (2) good evening Our meals were tasteful Thank you Kevin, Bambu is fortunate to have you

We ordered tempura, seafood garlic and beef teriyaki. The latter two dishes were disappointing. Both were kind of bland. The seafood garlic more like soup. I was expecting a creamer thicker sauce. The beef was average. I didn't realize that rice was not included with the main dishes. The tempura was a bit soggy but that was probably due to being takeout. Fried foods can get soggy if kept in containers. Not their fault. We've had delicious meals before but this order certainly did not meet expectations.

We have ordered here several times and we had one good meal and the second which was way worse than our first experience, we decided to try it again this evening and the food was awful, the tuna was fishy and tasted like it was days old and was inedible, and the lemon chicken was terrible.

Found the quality poor and the food is not that good. Much better choices out there if you’re looking for Thai/Asian food

We went to Bambu for lunch using a gift card from our daughter. All the Covid precautions were in place and they gave us an isolated table because we were seniors. That was the end of the good part. My wife ordered Pad Thai. After ordering we noticed there were no utensils on the table and no napkins. We assumed they would arrive with our orders. They didn't. When I ordered General Tao's chicken the waitress asked if I wanted to order rice. She seemed insistent but offered no reason. I ordered the rice, a bowl of white rice. We did have water in our glasses so my wife, being unable to attract anyone's attention, went in search of a napkin. She found some small bar glass napkins and we made do with those until our meal arrived. My wife's Pad Thai was the house special and arrived in a large bowl with a soup spoon. My General Toa's chicken consisted of a plate of diced, deep fried chicken, There was nothing else on the large plate but the chicken and a tiny bit of sauce. The dry white rice came in a separate bowl. There were three issues with this. I had only been given a large soup spoon as well to eat the chicken and the rice. I had no room on my plate to add any rice and, even if I had been able to do so, there was no sauce to flavor the rice. I ate a number of pieces of chicken and then used the spoon and my fingers to put some rice on my plate. This created a demand for our limited number of napkins. The chicken tasted nothing like General Toa's chicken and was dry, sauceless and to a great extent tasteless. The white rice was fine but difficult to move with my soup spoon without spilling it on the tablecloth or the saucer the bowl sat on. Nobody came to ask if we needed anything and the staff were nowhere to be seen. When the waitress finally arrived to ofer more water we were almost finished and she kindly scooped up the one remaining napkin and departed. My wife went for more. The Pad Thai was acceptable but almost impossible to eat with a soup spoon. We did notice waiters serving the outdoor patio and they seemed to have utensils wrapped in white napkins which they offered to the patrons. When our bill arrived we did leave a tip which represented more a Covid break thank you than a well done complement. This place is way off my list for future planning.

This place offer different type of Asian food including Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese. Quality is great with plenty of flavors. Price is more then fair considering the size of the servings. Worth a trip.

Everytime I go in we get great service, and the food is amazing. Well worth the trip. Appetizers are always on point.
