About Carleton University
Carleton University, located on unceded Algonquin territory beside the historic Rideau Canal, was founded in 1942 and is known for its beautiful and spacious campus. The university offers a lively environment with well-equipped libraries, nice classrooms, and several residence buildings for students. One of its unique features is the extensive tunnel system, totaling about 5 kilometers, which makes navigating the campus convenient, especially in winter. The tunnels also serve as art spaces, creating a special and immersive atmosphere. The campus's location, atmosphere, and friendly community are appreciated, with students, staff, and visitors enjoying Ottawa’s arts, outdoors, sports, and nightlife. Many have made professional connections and lifelong friends here. While the campus is generally welcoming and accessible, some find administrative aspects less favorable, noting concerns about focus on money and grades. Overall, student life is considered good, with popular meal plans and a vibrant community, though suggestions for additional security measures like CCTV in tunnels have been mentioned.

I'm not a student here but while visiting a friend was shown these amazing tunnels, 5k of them. The fact that they also double as art spaces make them sublime. It's like getting lost in a sci-fi film.

Made significant professional connections, and more importantly, lifelong friends who would help each other out at the drop of a dime to this day.

Beautiful Campus. Not really meant for cars during peak student traffic times but as long as you're not in a rush, navigation is fairly painless.
