Sebastian B. really steps up to sort out any customer issues at CIBC, delivering surprisingly great service for a retail bank. He makes everything about banking smooth and easy. I highly recommend him as an advisor. I rarely post reviews about banks. I'm super glad he's there!

I found a cibc credit card and had NO way of reporting it! I tried the customer service line but you need to be an account member to talk to someone. I hope the person who lost this card was able to report it right away! CIBC please have the option for good standing citizens to report when they find a CIBC bank card on the street. (No specific branch but for the company as a whole). It was too early in the morning to call a branch and I was on my way out of town travelling.

As a lifelong CIBC client, I have only had a positive experience until I was assigned a new financial advisor named Olutayo Ogunsola (Tayo for short). He is the most off putting excuse of an "advisor". He is a pathological liar who either doesn't know what he's doing or enjoys frustrating clients by continuously lying about procedures and contradicting himself when he's caught in a lie. It appears that he uses manipulative and intimidating tactics in order to steer conversations towards his undisclosed goals as part of his personal agenda. He has made me uncomfortable in more ways than one: being disrespectful and aggressive against my preference to turn off my camera in a virtual meeting; forcefully imposing his religion onto me as if he is a paid solicitor; disobeying my constant requests for email communications instead of phone calls by proceeding to call me frequently, even sometimes outside of typical business hours; dismissing my advanced and repeated mentions of my limited availability for calls/meetings by disregarding my availability boundaries and obsessive attempts to waste ridiculous amounts of my time. I don't even bank with this location and I was assigned him from this branch, which he failed to mention after he forced me to come to an in-person meeting which of course I expected to be at my home branch... he never apologized or acknowledged his error and my time he wasted. I sent him an email to communicate my dissatisfaction of his service and pointing out solid evidence and records of his lack of respect, pathological dishonesty and being a very unhelpful advisor. His reply did not include an acknowledgement of his actions and behaviors, instead he contradicted everything I spoke to (such as my concrete examples of dishonesty and extreme inefficiency). He even went as far to blame my dissatisfaction of his service as actually a dissatisfaction of CIBC's policies and procedures. I spoke to a different CIBC representative who confirmed that he was in fact untruthful about that.
Do I recommend CIBC to anyone? Yes!
Do I recommend Olutayo as an advisor? Not for a second. Instead, I wish to genuinely warn that he will be a major nuisance to deal with and will harass you. Please avoid him if you value your time, appreciate a decent, honest and helpful advisor, and wish to maintain your sanity.

Terrible hours for an ATM. Locked at 6:30pm when sign says it should be open until 7pm. Phone support listed on sign provided no help.

ATM access is supposed to be open at 7am on weekdays but whoever is supposed to unlock the door is clearly not doing their job. I've gone as late as 9am to withdraw cash and the door was still locked!

Worst customer care service ever seen in my life. No body receives any call and advisers goes for emergency and won’t come back for weeks. Please do not waste your time and efforts to go there.

Hi there! I'm writing this review for the CIBC branch at Bank and Queen in Ottawa. I want to say that Kim, Ke, and Rifa all went above and beyond to help me on Friday, May 19th, 2023. I needed to open an account and I had very little ID due to having my wallet stolen. These 3 wonderful women allowed me to open the account and helped me set up my online banking and my bank card despite it being 4:15 pm on a Friday and they close the branch at 5pm. I'm so grateful and so happy that they helped me that much and I never felt rushed. In fact I felt like they were happy to help me. Thank you ladies!!
