I chose Scotiabank mainly because it was close to where I live, but my experience has been disappointing. I visited the branch three times, and each visit resulted in poor service. My concerns were not taken seriously, and the staff were not helpful.
Because of these repeated issues, I decided to close my account. Instead of receiving support, my request was declined, and I was told I still needed to pay monthly fees, which felt like an excuse rather than real assistance.
Overall, I am unhappy with the customer service and how this situation was handled.

I chose Scotiabank because it was close to my home, but the service was very poor every time I visited. After three bad experiences, I decided to close my account. Instead of helping me, they refused and made excuses about monthly fees. Very disappointing customer service.

I have been trying to get my mortgage discharge documents for three and a half months.
I have contacted 7 different people at Scotiabank.
I have received 3 different stories/excuses
I have left messages and been ignored by three different people at the Paul Anka branch.
The latest person I talked to says I NEVER REQUESTED THE DOCUMENT, that I paid $434.23 for more than 3 months ago

Scotiabank machines do not work properly . Can’t make a deposit . Old machines worked just fine . Service at this branch is horrible .

I ma a costumer at Scotia bank for more than 22 years
. In my experience with this location I will rate it zero star .
Worst experience I am still waiting for mortgage approval for more than 2 month
Very disappointed and I will move my services to another bank ASAP
Just to busy with my work .
It used to be nice service not anymore .

Is this the worst scotia bank in ottawa? I have never come here and had a good experience. I rarely go to the bank because of online banking, ATMs and customer service(phone). But if I ever have to go in, this is the branch I go to because it is behind my house. It is always a mental battle because though this location is open from 9:30-5, and barely has any traffic. The tellers here behave as though they work at a cell phone call center. You guys need to hire people who like their jobs or maybe I am not rich enough yet for good service, who knows. Maybe it's a scotia thing.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with a Scotiabank employee named Nageen. From the start, Nageen’s customer service was appalling. She was not only unhelpful but also incredibly rude throughout our interaction. When I sought assistance, she responded with a dismissive attitude and seemed genuinely disinterested in resolving my issue. Her lack of professionalism and courtesy made the entire experience frustrating and unpleasant. It’s disheartening to encounter such poor service, especially from a reputable bank like Scotiabank. Ultimately, due to this negative experience, I ended up closing my account. I hope the management addresses this issue to prevent other customers from enduring similar treatment.

had an appointment on january 23rd. upon arriving , apparently the person who was scheduled wasn’t there. the gentlemen at the teller tried to assist me but was rudely interrupted by the one lady who was working at the time. not only was she extremely loud but she had no knowledge of what was going on with my account and just blurted things out before leaving for the day. after an hour of being at the branch and still no resolution, another person offered to assist me and brought me in his office to discuss my account. he was shocked to find out that i had an appointment already but was told no one was available. i’m not sure why my original appointment wasn’t acknowledged but my experience at this branch was a nightmare to say the least.

We have a joint account at this branch. One time my partner deposited $300 in one of the abm machine, the transaction was successful however a reciept was not issued. When we checked our account the next day, the $300 was not deposited in our account. We went back 3 times but the issue was not resolved. They kept saying that they will contact us however its been 2 weeks and we did not get our $300. We would not recomend this branch, I dont know if other scotia bank is like this. I just hope that we will get our $300 back.

Not sure what is wrong with this branch. Whenever I go there the issues I am trying to resolve are not solved or become even bigger. The branch is good only for if you need to pay bills or make money transactions. If you need more complicated things done like mortgages, you will get a disaster instead - no one know what to do.I spent one hour today trying to make missed mortgage payment. I got pushed from one person to another and even the manager didn't know how to solve it. I left the branch with no clear answer. So frustrating!I would never recommend this branch.
