Shouldn’t be surprised by the casual racism but 9 years later here we are again. As a former employee, went in store to replace items from my lost luggage with my partner. I spent time with two employees who were amazing and had the second employee (Mia) cash me out. At this point I had given my beauty insider information (which had my full name and purchase history) yet the tall bald man was aggressive and asked for my identification when using my credit card with the same full name.Having worked here before, I know they constantly only call black and people of colour as Nora’s (aka thieves) on the headset, never promoted BIPOC into management, and now I’m being racially profiled for using my own credit card.I’ve seen people of all colours make larger purchases that never needed id, yet when I make a normal purchase (with the highest ticket item being $160) I am suddenly being quizzed.Don’t come here. Sephora has not changed and continues to allow racial biases seep to the store level.Yucky and happy that I no longer have to represent a brand with such outdated values.

HelloI want to share somethingThere birthday gifts and free samples of perfumes are not good in quality and quantity.I have received ILIA mascara as a birthday gift and it has so bad smell gives so much itchiness to my eyes like ash from cigarette.when I have complained in the store they have oh it’s nothing.They did not entertain .( just gave the excuses) said we do not have any more.I have ordered some stuff online and added free perfumes sample. It came but just for formality, the sample was lower than half.Improve your services, if you are selling so expensive products.Thank you

I come here often and everyone is extremely helpful and go above and beyond! Except for one new girl - I recently went during their Black Friday sale and she was on cash. I told her to choose my rouge account when cashing me out and she told me it wasn’t rouge. I told her again it is rouge and I know ift but she still refused (which I didn’t understand at the moment). She offered me a birthday gift and first I said no then I said nvm I’ll take one. She rolled her eyes and made a face as if it’s a big inconvenience for her to grab it again and put it in a bag. I was still polite and thanked her and even apologized for changing my mind. Later I found out she put my purchases on the wrong account even after telling her several times to put it under my rouge account and repeatedly told her my email. It was so simple and could have been done politely. I’m only there to spend money in your store anyways so no need to be rude and just take a minute to listen to your customer rather then belittling them on the spot.

The employee working there named Nona was very knowledgeable in the products and was very helpful. I came in to buy my sister a gift and I was clueless about women’s products. Nona was very patient and made sure I received legendary customer service. I left the store with a bunch of products and my sister was very happy with the choices Nona recommended us. If anyone ever comes by the store I recommend getting help from this young lady specifically due to her excellent customer service and knowledge of products.

In my 8+ years of being a loyal Sephora customer I have never encountered a Sephora employee as rude as Christal. She is dismissive and disrespectful to customers.The store closed at 6, and at 5:40 when I tried ask to step in to grab a few items, Christal curtly interrupted me to say “We’re closed” in a disdainful tone. She never offered any explanation (the store was closing early that day despite not being posted anywhere, which I only found out afterwards) or even an apology for the inconvenience. There was absolutely no level of empathy for customers who travelled to the store thinking it was operating on usual hours. Luckily I didn’t take it personally because I witnessed her barking the same thing rudely at other customers trying to enter the store which was usually open at that time.As someone who works in customer service, I absolutely can’t imagine speaking to customers that way, and I’m shocked a store with such a great reputation has employees like this. I understand being frustrated after a long shift or by having to give customers bad news, but I absolutely don’t understand speaking to them as less than and unworthy of courtesy of an explanation.

Sam helped my friend and I at this location today and she was simply wonderful! We bought some travel perfumes and received a free gift as part of a special promo today. Great location!!

I visited Sephora with a friend with an intention of purchasing makeup to restock, however, in the middle of our shopping we got stopped by a worker who accused us of stealing and even asked us to show our bags when all of the makeup was inside of the Sephora shopping bag. I never felt so uncomfortable and upset with a store who ruined our shopping experience and embarrassed us in front of other customers. I hope next time they carefully think before they talk.

Good customer service is hard to come by nowadays. Found myself at this Sephora a few times, employees are always miserable giving you dirty looks and staring at you 24/7 like you’re going to steal something. I’ve happily transitioned to shopping online to prevent this stressful shopping experience

I went to this Sephora with my friend to restock my regular products, but I left feeling upset and embarrassed. As I was holding some makeup items in my hand, an employee came up to my friend and I to accuse us of stealing items by dropping them in my bag. I had both products in my hands which I showed to her, but she still asked me to remove the supposed makeups in my bag. I was so caught off guard that I forgot to ask for her name, though I wish that I did. I have never been more uncomfortable and humiliated while I was shopping and I will never be a customer here again.

Was looking for a particular item. A lady showed me where it was. I asked if they have a top of the line product for curly hair. She showed me a product. Started to ask questions about this product and she said she would be right back. Then I see her helping other customers. I laid down the products and left. Not happy. Wish I could have got her name

Every time I’ve been into this store…. The employees are very unpleasant to deal with. Majority of them seems very irritated, mean, and just terrible customer service.. I even had to employees… stare at me yesterday and comment about my weight… I am disgusted will never be giving this place business for a while. They had a super nice employee there her name was Zara. Only nice person I’ve experienced there. Others are judgemental, treat you like garbage and seems miserable. Whoever is the manager here needs to smarten up.. and hire nicer people.. these employees don’t know customer service. I’m grateful for the ones there who have been nice but I haven’t meet more then 1 or two.. taking the trip to a different Sephora for now on.. the woman working there are aweful :(..

Have been a customer for a long time and had just stellar experience every time- they're in the rideau center so occasionally being in a rush or a little bit distracted by just the sheer amount of customers is totally normalz and even then i always get great service and reccomendations. The tall gentleman with blond hair and glasses on their staff was extremely helpful and found me a perfect lipstick that i love love love.

In Ottawa, Rideau center Brandi is friendly and a pro. She listens carefully and suggest the perfect products. Love my IT CC, Bumble mousse and Ilia mascara. At last no allergies. Greatful and satisfied customer.

I don't recommend getting a makeup service at Sephora. I had a very bad experience with the 30-minute makeup focus service. I asked the make up artist to give me a soft smokey eye cat eye. We chose 3 colors + a base for the eye make up. when I opened my eyes, it was absolutely UGLY! I looked like a raccoon!! What a waste of time and I ran late because of it. I repeat I do not recommend the make-up service at Sephora, specially at Sephora Rideau Centre.
