As someone who previously worked in retail, the manager ( tall middle eastern looking man) here is extremely unprofessional. I saw a person asking for a return and he walked away mid conversation. The lady was super nice and was within her right to ask for a refund. I immediately put everything back because I refuse to give my
Money to a store that’s sooooo rude to customers.
The store is a mess. It makes sense because it’s being ran by unprofessional employees.

terrible customer service. Asked nicely where an item was and I just get a sarcastic response back. I go up to another associate and as I’m expressing my experience with the previous associate she tells me to calm down because I was complaining that the customer service was terrible. I work retail and I know how customer service should be done.

This is easily some of the worst retail service I’ve experienced in Ottawa. The staff were dismissive, unhelpful, and noticeably unprofessional, which points to serious staffing and management issues at this location. The store would clearly benefit from better-trained, more professional employees. With the current job shortage in Ottawa, there are undoubtedly many people who would appreciate the opportunity to work here and actually provide proper customer service. Replacing and properly training the existing staff would likely lead to a significant improvement.

The team provided top notch customer service. They went out of their way to take my number when they didn't have my size. They searched the entire store and connected me with options at other locations. Fantastic service 👏

They have an employee go by the entrance with items to set off the alarms if they think you’re suspicious, then let you go after keeping you there as if it wasn’t obvious what had happened. No apology either.

Within the last years of me shopping at this Zara location I have NEVER been checked on by an employee, greeted and barely given any type of good service. But today was different, this lovely man, Dharma was the first to ever check up on us multiple times. 10/10 cxr service.
Hire more like him and maybe this place wouldnt have such a bad rep.

It was so difficult to return a damaged online order. In my mind this was supposed to be like a 1+1=2, kindergarten level type of exchange:
Damaged item? = money back
but no, their math is different. Right off the bat, they gave me attitude and rudeness and initially refused to do the return. It took a LOT of convincing on my end which is ridiculous because I’m trying to return something that came in damaged.
This isn’t poor customer service anymore, it’s a complete lack of it. It’s non existent.

My daughter recently purchased several dresses online for an upcoming wedding, from different retailers. The one from ZARA was very nice, but poorly constructed—the lining stopped at the stomach which was visible through the fabric. She tried it on once, then repackaged it with the tag still attached.
When she brought it to the store to return, on October 9th around 11:30am, the cashier (woman wearing a mask) immediately questioned whether it had been worn and gave her an accusatory look when she said no. The staff member then claimed the dress was dirty, which it absolutely was not. I stepped in to clarify: the dress was ordered less than a week ago, clearly unworn, as it still had the large cardboard tag attached—which would be visible through the thin fabric if worn.
Despite this, the cashier insisted it couldn’t be returned. Only after asking for a manager was the return accepted. Although he told us he was making an exception. Unbelievable. Shockingly, the manager (tall male with dark hair) commented that staff are “trained to say no.” What kind of policy is that?
Both employees were very rude and dismissive. This experience was extremely frustrating. ZARA has lost our trust—we won’t be shopping there again and neither will our friends who were with us to experience the horrendous service.
Based on all the negative reviews and our own experience, customer service training for your staff is definitely in order.
And btw, she had no issues at all with the return to Simon’s. We had exceptional service there.

DO NOT shop here. Manager is agressive and rude. He clearly treats customers like this often considering he was too nervous to give me his name. (He lied to my face about this as well, it was confirmed they are supposed to provide their name) Employee #: 29323.

Stay away from this store. They refuse to honour their sales. Same style in 3 colours and they claim that it's the customers who move them there.

I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent experience at Zara Rideau Centre.( ottawa) I purchased a blouse that turned out to be of poor quality, and within 10 days I returned to the store to request a return.
At the cash desk, the associate called the manager, Mr. Arshia. Unfortunately, his behavior was extremely unprofessional—he was dismissive, unfriendly, and at times even impolite. I left the store feeling very dissatisfied with the customer service I received.
It is truly disappointing to encounter such treatment, especially at one of Ottawa’s most reputable shopping centres. I sincerely hope Zara will look into this matter to ensure a higher standard of professionalism and customer care in the future.

On saturday september 6, 2025 at around 6pm ish I went to this store to return/exchange a defected product. while I was explaining the situation to the store manager, don’t know her name, she got really irritated and raised her voice then proceeded to storm off mid conversation. Not only was the quality of the product disappointing but the treatment and service was very demeaning and appalling. I will definitely think twice before buying another Zara product and I will for sure not be coming back to this branch. Terrible experience.
