Great gift ideas but used to have more selection and less mainstream. But still recommend as a great place to shop in at.

I had a credit note from late 2020. At the time, I was told it would never expire. Finally, went in today to spend it and was told it expired after two years. It was on the back of the receipt but both the sales person from then and the one who served me today thought that tjey didnt expire. The person today phone corporate office to discuss it and was emphatically told tough luck. This is both poor service and a bad business decision. We were buying four bowls that would ultimately have led to a 12 5 piece settings purchase. Most of the items in zone are available elsewhere at a lower price. I had alway been willing to pay the premium to support small business. Luckily there are other similar stores nearby as well as the less expensive stores who give you your money back if you buy something that doesn’t work out.

I usually don’t write reviews but I felt like this place needed one. I waited outside along with a few other customers for over 20 minutes. The store capacity is 13 but there was less than five customers in the store and no one came to unlock the door. I tried calling and saw one of the cashiers (an older man maybe the manager?) glance at the phone and let it ring. This place has definitely gone down hill the past few years.

Great selection of housewares, etc. The right balance between design, usefulness a price. A pleasant shop atmosphere. When near the ByWard Market we usually stop in to see what's possible.

The Zone! Cool name! ? The products here are great and it’s a nice atmosphere in there while you browse the items. Very nice! ??

My spouse and daughters love zone. But, sadly, they will not be shopping there again. They are regular customers and purchase several items every year. Personally, I’ve always found the service to be lacking - very cool and inhospitable. But they like the stuff. We recently purchased two outdoor chairs and after a few uses, one split in half when one of our guests, a young teenage girl, sat down on it. Luckily, she was ok other than suffering a bruised ego. We took a picture of the broken chair and returned part of the chair as proof and also brought back the second chair fearing that it too would be defective. The manager let us know that without all the other pieces of the broken chair, regardless of the pic and piece we showed him, he could do nothing. That the supplier needs “all the pieces’. I told him that that made no sense, that a supplier who valued Zone’s business would surely provide a credit. He did not ask how the girl was, whether she was injured in any way. He didn’t apologize on behalf of zone or the manufacturer. He held onto, what may be the company line, but it’s an idiotic line and rationale to provide a loyal client. We were prepared to buy other chairs and fixtures, but left taking our business elsewhere. We will not be returning to zone. They should learn to bend over, maybe not backwards, but perhaps a little for their clients…rather than making sure their suppliers’ rules are followed to the letter.
