The 1840s General Store & Bakery in Pakenham is a must-see whether you're a local or just passing through. It is stocked with reasonably priced grocery items and fresh-baked goods daily, along with camping essentials, fishing supplies, greeting cards, and gifts. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, offering history lessons about the store. It is the best bakery around, famous for the best sandwiches, made with fresh homemade bread, fresh garden veggies, and love. The food is to die for, with good smoked meat sandwiches and sweet butter tarts. There is a little spot to eat outside. Many customers highly recommend stopping in.

Beautiful store, really family and kid friendly, so many unique and fun treats, snacks, and toys at great prices. Lots of fun even just to stop in to watch the train go around!
