I switched to Scotiabank about a year ago or so.I have to say the monthly charges for one checking account are extremely expensive.Every month I am charged no less than $12 & sometimes north of 17$ just to pay for this checking account. There are fees, charges and even interest charges that I have to pay just to hold on to the most basic of accounts. As a Canadian, I think people with less should receive more help, not less than others who have more.Review update third time I've been to this bank to try to use the ATM in the morning. Third day that the ATM is broken. It won't accept the card.

I am extremely disappointed with the staff and especially the supervisor today for refusing to issue me a new debit card because I only have a health card for a piece of ID. It's what I used when I started my account and now they won't accept it. The supervisor has known me since high school and has been a bully since then , I see things still haven't changed Danielle, there's absolutely no reason why you couldn't have even tried to verify my account with one piece of photo ID . I will be closing my account once the card I was issued over the PHONE arrives by mail. So unprofessional.

The most disorganized Scotiabank I have ever seen.I am in A crisis housing situation. The first day I filled out all their paperwork had it notarized to take money from my investments...That was 16 days ago And still nothing in my account !!!as soon as I move back to my hometown I will be switching my investments and personal banking to another bank. The staff is very Nice However it's very apparant that no one knows what they are doing. The Parry Sound location has been the worst scotiabank, and worst banking experiance I've ever had. I'm very upset and at scotiabank over all.At one time customers came first..not any longer

Would give negative if possible. A teller at the Parry Sound location LOST a $30k cheque. Tellers refused to phone the manager, said they'd call us the next day as if it was no big deal. Two voicemails to the manager later with no reply and still waiting on that promised call re: where our money went! Because of their mismanagement and inexperienced staff Scotia has continued to withdraw monthly payments from my account. Entirely unacceptable, will never give Scotia another cent.
