I truly wished the church was more accepting. When you have a family who has turned to God, should be a beautiful thing to the church. Instead we were mocked for sitting in the wrong seats (knowingly, it was very full in the church and we showed up a bit late) but instead of receiving help from our fellow Christian’s we were gossiped about and not felt welcomed in the slightest.. hopefully we can find a church we can call our home but I was really hurt to find this is not our church..

The Cathedral of the North! The church is centrally located in the town of Penetanguishene with gorgeous views of Georgian Bay. Step in and go back in time....stunning architecture, beautiful stained-glass windows, murals and huge pipe organ.

Someone left the door open so I snuck in like a real Catholic. Enjoyed some sit'n on a creaky pew. I wish more places like this allowed for us wandering about to snag a bit of that ole sacred silence. Drafty in the best way. Smells and bells etc. I filled my lungs with the stuff.

Thankful that the church opens the door to the community. It was a nice, quiet building for prayer and contemplation.

A very beautiful church full of history. I felt very, in the spirit, while visiting and praying. I was the only person in there at that time, just God and I.

A lot of history comes with this church, Because it's over 175 years old. this is the 3rd church that was built on the site, It is grandeur inside and out, and was promoted as the cathedral of the north. I believe it is still the biggest roman catholic church outside of the Toronto GTA .I was there for a service when my mother passed and it reminded me of grand churches of Europe. On a hill top overlooking the waters of Penetang it is a beautiful site.
