This Giant Tiger is not really good with Customer service. The cashier made a big deal about ringing in the reusable bag I was buying first, but then as she was ringing in my order, I noticed she was burying my bag on the bottom of the pile of my purchases rather than filling it with the items she was ringing in. Then she just stood there waiting for me to pay and still didn’t try to pack my bag for me. I find this a bit annoying as I didn’t have the bag at the beginning of my order in the first place so why get it from me, just to hide it ? I will say, on my way out, I had a young man thank me for shopping there and told me to have a good day.

To some this review up in one word, “useless”. I was around the corner and stopped in to check it out. No good deals, I saw some long sleeve shirts I bought for half the price at the lakefield giant tiger. I found a sweater that was nice I thought I’d get it. I went to pay, self checkout was closed, two cashiers had customers and one old couple in front of me. Shouldn’t be long. It was a good five minute wait before the first person cleared the checkout. The line is getting bigger and bigger behind me. The couple move forward. I’m next, I felt like I won the lottery. The line is increasingly getting longer behind me, people are getting impatient and frustrated with the lack of movement. I’m close to another five minutes in and still have two people checking out in front of me. The lady that’s been watching all of this putting hangers on a rack finally tells the cashier to call for backup. The cashier stares at her like she has two heads and keeps standing there. The line is 12-15 people long it’s going to take the last person an hour to get through the checkout line. The cashier wakes from her dream and it finally sinks in, she now understands and gets on the PA. She quietly mumbles something unintelligible on the PA, all I could make out was “backup”. Finally someone shows up and asks the coat hanger lady if she wants her to open another cash? I throw the sweater in a bin and walked out at my age I no longer have patience for incompetence and stupidity. I have no desire to ever return here and waste the precious moments of my life not achieving anything. This time suck makes me feel like part of my life has been stolen. My wife said she gave up going here already for pretty much the same story. If you have nothing to do and all day to do it, and just want to waste hours waiting in a checkout line then this is the place to visit. This location is known as the biggest joke of the GTE, (Giant Tiger Empire), and they should step and terminate the manager for their inability to actually manage and hire competent staff. When your parking is full of cars prepare to be busy. The epitome of useless.

Giant Tiger never fails to impress me. The wide range of items packed into a Canadian retailer at reasonable prices always callsy name. I have never not bought something.

Great selection of clothing for everyone....and right now they have a great selection of Christmas sweaters, tops, and outfits!

They've sure cluttered the hell out of this store for the Christmas season, so if you're looking for novelty stocking stuffers, or wierd looking pyjamas, then this is definitely the place to go.
