I recently participated in the Santa Christmas Market at this center. The hall was spacious and well-ventilated, with excellent temperature control and fresh air circulation, keeping everyone comfortable. The center itself is large, bright, and impeccably clean. The atmosphere is friendly, designed to accommodate people of all ages and needs comfortably. The parking lot is also sizable, and finding an open space was no trouble at all.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the amazing staff at Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex. They’re always friendly, professional, and make every visit enjoyable. However, there is a serious issue that needs to be addressed by the City of Pickering: the elevator in the complex has been out of service for over two months, and there has been no visible effort to resolve the problem. This situation is unacceptable.
As a taxpayer, I expect timely and efficient services, especially when it comes to critical infrastructure like elevators. Unfortunately, it seems that the city is slow to take action. It’s frustrating to see our tax money collected but essential repairs delayed. The delay in fixing something as important as an elevator reflects poorly on the city's priorities and efficiency.
I urge the Mayor of Pickering and city officials to step in and expedite the approval process for repairs. It’s disappointing to think that documents related to important issues like this may just be sitting on desks without action. If the current team can’t handle these responsibilities, then maybe it’s time for some new hires who will get the job done with greater urgency.
Please take this issue seriously and work toward a solution as soon as possible. The residents and visitors of Pickering deserve better.

Great place. Nice staff. Hard to get parking. We've requested to reinforce the rule of changing behind the locked doors inside the changing rooms but we still have kids changing at the benches. It's not nice to have kids stripped naked. I wish they would have a staff member there gently reminding parents to go in a room to change their kids. This is a rule written all over the changing room.

Nice pool and rec center. No longer going to this location due to the co-ed change rooms. Not able to use gender specified change room without a membership.

Very friendly staff. Large pool. Lots of locker rooms. The toddler pool is very limited - other nearby rec centres are much better for toddler pools. Great day care facility and staff! Lots of cardio equipment in the gyms. Decent mix of exercise equipment split into two areas. Arena at the back with 2 pads and some party rooms. Go lightning!

Terrible and extremely disrespectful staff. When I complained to the security that they were yelling and screaming and made my kids scared for maintaining an arm distance while my kids already passed swim test as well there. The security said they are hard of hearing so they scream which was a lie. I went there and the way they screamed, my kids started crying and now they don’t want to go to any public swim. It was the most horrifying experience for me and my family.

Busy happening place. Building is old though so there's not much that can be done to improve the place.
