I do not visit mastermind often but every time i have gone to the Pickering location the service as been spectacular! I was greeted by Cory who was amazing. He was knowledgeable about the products and asked what i was looking for and provided recommendations which was great because i wasn't sure what i wanted to get. He was personable and genuine and he was not pushy and gave me the space i needed to decide what i wanted! I will definitely return in the future and i am grateful for the help Cory provided!

Very good initiatives in the recent times. My kids love this shop. Toys are well placed and good maintained shop. Story telling events on all Thursday evening 4 PM is a big hit. Lot of kids play around the shop. Love shopping and spending time with kids in the shop. Kudos to the entire sales and crew. Thanks to all free goodies given to all kids. You make them happy. Enjoyed !!!

Worst customer service ever , tried to bring back a toy that does not work bought it yesterday , but the old lady refuses , I told her I can get a store credit she refuse too what I’m gonna do with a broken toy

Selection is non-existent now. Also, staff approached me to offer help to which I responded with the traditional “no thanks I’m just browsing”. Well he didn’t care and spent the next 3 minutes telling me about all the sales and specials. Completely clueless to the fact that I was facing the other directing and trying to walk away. I left immediately after and won’t return. Guess it’s back to the Amazon jungle.

Was there today with my sister looking for gifts for my little cousin. I had already went there on Tuesday and was helped, the staff was very friendly. But I was too indecisive then so that's why I came back with my sister. I had a staff member following me throughout the store. It was irritating and made me uncomfortable, especially since Matermind is a large store and she only followed me and my sister, two visibly black women.I got a really lovely book for my cousin. But if I had known of another Mastermind Toy store in another location, I would not have shopped there. I'm going to Montreal tomorrow to give my family the gifts I got them so that's why I had to buy a gift right then and there. But I will never be buying from this location again. I don't know what role that woman plays within the store but she is NOT discreet.Also the other staff weren't as friendly to me as they had been to the customer ahead of me in line. They smiled at her, made small talk with her, and they spoke to her with a tone of voice to indicate they were happy she was shopping there. When I got up to the counter I expected the same kind of happy friendly tone, but instead the cashier dropped their customer service voice, didn't make small talk, and didn't even look me in the eye. I'm not even the type of person who truly cares for small talk anywhere I go, but it was such a contrast to how they treated the customer ahead of me that it made me feel a type of way... like I said, will never be back here again.
