Just visited the store ,staff was friendly and were willing to help customers. Specially at the jewelry counter, the gentleman was willing to show as much jewelry and did not mind. The shelves were organized and clean.

I went to Value Village to see if I could find a snow pants. I did not find one at that time but two employees were very helpful. However, I found and bought a night black jacket at an affordable price and the manager gave me a 20% discount on added.I was not why I intended to go but the result was good. So, I'll check it again!

At the checkout they took my bag and changed the price tag, the price became 2 times more! The manager said they made a mistake, but that's not my problem! They refused to sell the bag at the first price tag! Fraudsters!!!

I decided to check out the nearby Value Village with the hope of finding a power adapter for my IPTV Box. Regrettably, my search turned out to be unsuccessful. I went on a stroll through the store to get an overview of its various departments for the purpose of this review. It caught my attention that they offer a self-checkout option at this specific location. While I used to donate my items to Value Village in the past, I've since refrained from doing so. This decision was influenced when I discovered that the store operates as a for-profit business, reselling donated items with a substantial markup. Only a modest portion, roughly 17% of their proceeds, is donated to charity.

Never know what you'll find at Value Village. From toys to clothes, always cool to see older toys from back in the day. But my mission was to get a power adapter. Unfortunately they didn't have the one I needed. There are 9 self checkout machines now which is surprising.Ample parking available for Value Village and wheelchair accessible parking and store entrance.

I emailed this institution with a few concerns and was responded with what was undoubtedly an automated message meant to appease a concerned member of the public. I have hence chosen to leave my email as a review:For several years, I have enjoyed visiting my local Value Village and looking for clothes to add to my wardrobe. I applaud Value Village's purpose: "to champion reuse," however, I would be lying if I did not say that I also amend the low prices I can find in the store. These low prices come as no surprise given that items are freely donated by community members, myself included. Recently, however, I have been disappointed to see a surge in prices in store, with some pieces of clothing listed for $20.00 or more. I have witnessed that this creates two problems. First, community members who rely on low prices are demoralised. Second, the higher prices work in contradiction to Value Village's purpose: "to champion reuse."While helping the community is not clearly stated as one of Value Village's goals on the website, it is often understood that a 'thrift shop' or 'secondhand place,' as your establishment is described on the website, is utilised by individuals who would not otherwise be able to afford good quality clothes. These price surges are extremely disappointing; I cannot help but think of the individuals who walk into the store thinking they can afford a number of pieces but ultimately must walk out with significantly fewer items as they cannot afford the inflated prices. I cannot help but imagine the stress that goes through an individual's mind when they realise that a time has come when they cannot afford both firsthand or secondhand clothes. If there is a time when people are most in need it is now; Value Village is failing those people. While a response to a critique such as mine might be able to justify a general price increase at Value Village, as I see such increases in most stores presently, I still cannot conceptualise how two seemingly identical tank tops might be drastically different prices. For instance, during my most recent visit, I purchased a tank top for $5.49 but saw another very similar top on the rack for $17.00.While I am able to afford my bill at the end of each visit, I hope you can empathise with those who might not be so fortunate. I hope you can put yourself in the shoes of an individual who relies on the low prices of secondhand stores and try and understand how these inflated prices might impact such individuals. In addition, I would like to try and depict how such inflated prices work against Value Village's purpose: "to champion reuse." While I am not sure how prices are determined at my local store, in many cases I would argue that it is not done most prudently. For example, on the same recent visit, I purchased a pair of shoes for $8.99. After purchasing the shoes, I realised they had a retail tag which stated that the original owner purchased them for $3.00. Had I seen this retail tag initially, I likely would not have purchased the shoes. To provide another example, I once was discouraged from purchasing a tank top because the price was $8; at the time, I could purchase a brand new tank top from Walmart for $7.When the price of clothes at Value Village is more expensive than that of leading fast fashion stores (i.e. Walmart, Shein, and so forth), shoppers are less likely to purchase secondhand as they can get firsthand for cheaper. With materialism and micro trends dominating the world, Value Village has to work even harder to ensure they maintain their mission. Inflated prices only work against this.I hope you can find yourself considering what I have said. As an avid Value Village lover and supporter for years, I would hate to see the store become unaffordable and just as culpable as any fast fashion store.--While I continue to shop at Value Village, I am sorry to see what it has become and hope to see some improvements in the future.

If you haven't tried thrifting before, value village ajax or pickering is a good place to start. It's a treasure hunt, but their stores are nicely organized and make it easy with their color organization and various departments. If you're looking for a particular item (like a plate from your set that broke, or the perfect formal dress) you will likely only find it if you commit to frequent trips. On which you'll find a bunch of other stuff you didn't know you needed ? the staff at this store are nice. Everything is final sale except clothes which are exchange only within 14 days. Keep your receipt! Happy hunting!!

I recently visited Value Village, hoping to find some affordable treasures and unique items. However, I left feeling disappointed with their pricing strategy. The prices at Value Village are shockingly high, sometimes comparable to those found in antique stores. It's disheartening to see a thrift store, which is typically associated with affordable and budget-friendly shopping, adopt such inflated pricing. The essence of thrift shopping is to find hidden gems at reasonable prices, but Value Village seems to have missed the mark on this. While I understand that some items may hold more value due to their rarity or unique qualities, it's frustrating to see everyday items priced at levels that are simply unreasonable. It's as if Value Village is trying to position itself as an upscale vintage or antique store rather than a thrift store catering to those in search of affordable second-hand goods. This pricing strategy alienates the very customers that thrift stores often attract, such as students, young families, and bargain hunters. It's unfortunate because Value Village has the potential to be a great resource for those looking for affordable and sustainable shopping options.I would suggest Value Village reevaluates their pricing strategy and focuses on providing more reasonable and accessible prices. After all, the true beauty of thrift stores lies in their ability to make unique and affordable finds accessible to everyone.Overall, my experience at Value Village left me disappointed due to their high prices and the feeling that I was shopping at an antique store rather than a thrift store. I hope they consider adjusting their pricing strategy to better align with the expectations of their customers.

Overall clean and tidy store, well organized. Seems to have decent stock but obviously hit or miss if looking for something specific. Frequently has coupons available. Lots of parking.

Usually don’t do this but the lady with the KITH shirt , big nose and glasses should not work there . She’s rude , unpleasant and has RBF . She also prices the items she puts out extremely high . Like you guys get the clothes for free. Why are you pricing t shirts for over 15 dollars. Terrible. I offered to pay 10 and she refused. Will not return to this location anymore due to how greedy the are . Value village is getting out of hand. Becoming less affordable for the people that need it. Disgusting

The biggest Value Village I've ever visited! Great selection of items and I found the pricing to be a bit cheaper than other locations. I found some pieces that I'm really proud about at a good price!

I stopped here to make a donation from a big kitchen cleanup I've finished. Old pots, pans, dishes, and glassware. The donation process was super easy, and they were friendly and helpful. I received a coupon for the donation, so I decided to see what was inside. I found a couple of great items and even a few records I wanted. All in all, it is a great place and seems to be a massive resource for good in the city.

Long time thrift store bargain hunter. VV is definitely on the decline. Decreasing likelihood of finding anything cool or worthwhile, ever increasing prices. They really need to give their heads a shake and remember that they are selling used goods.
