For the price, and basic no frills needs, the motel is clean and adequate. We found the bed was comfy and plenty of heat for the subzero temperature outside.
However, calling the lobby "coffee" coffee, is generous
For the price, it's good value.

Great experience at motel 6. Completely exceeded my expectations. We stopped at 130 am got a room that fit our needs perfectly. A few other motels down the road were asking 500$ deposit because of pets this place wanted 100$. Will definitely be looking for another motel6 on our trip across Canada.

I booked 3hrs before arriving for the night of & upon arrival they had me booked six days later I still reseved a room similar to request a 2 double beds instead of a 2 queen beds (charged as a queen). Then I received a call from the hotel at 12:30 am six night later asking if I'm on my way to check in. This was cancelled! My visa was charged thw following day for a cancelled room booking days in advance.
Noteworthy details: I scam hotel

Not even able to rent a room with only cash or other than credit card.
No credit card you cannot sleep.
Sleep in you car.

From check-in to check-out everything was better than expected. Despite this locations outwardly appearance all of the appliances in my room were new. I felt extremely comfortable here as the staff were negligible and helpful especially as an international customer. The only notable inconvenience I experienced during my stay here was the oddly low water pressure. Other than this I cannot comment on any of the other services provided at this location since I did not use them. Overall good experience and would strongly recommend this location.

This motel that turned into Hotel 6, not Canadian either it's American owned,.which is fine..very convenient location, kids and pets no extra charge which is fine too, but the rooms are not kept up in cleanliness..Many other's have said also..my family visited Sault overnight, my sister said it was bad smell, and stuffy and couldn't sleep due to it..This is where anyone can catch the Northland bus to anywhere though, which is a plus for them. A couple neighbors said their feet got dirty cause of floors, so..other then location is the only 5 star.

Good motel, especially considering the price. Didn’t take any photos, but the rooms were as advertised. There are no amenities, no coffee machine, no microwave. A good place to sleep while on your travels to Northern Ontario.

Booked a room here late at night when there was no rooms available anywhere else. I checked in just after 11pm. The bathroom was filthy - hair, dirt and grime everywhere. I took pictures and went to the front desk and asked for a refund, because I'd rather sleep in my car than in such a dirty hotel room. The front desk guy argued with me and insisted it was perfectly clean, even when I showed him the photos. He said he couldn't see anything! Then refused to give me a refund, even though I'd checked in less than 10 minutes prior to this conversation. He said I had to contact Hotels.com to get a refund. I sat in a convo with the virtual chat agent there for like an hour, and finally the agent couldn't give me a refund because he said it was up to the hotel to give it and they were refusing, saying the room was perfectly clean. By this point it was after midnight. So now after all that waste of my time and sleeping in my car in Walmart parking lot, I will have to dispute it with my credit card company to get my $187 back that I paid for a filthy room I didn't use.

Room was clean, bed was okay. Area and building was questionable.

Stayed 4 nights, beds were comfortable, and the motel was reasonably quiet. However, not once was my room cleaned, bed not made, garbage not emptied, and floors not mopped or swept. I kept slippers or shoes on as the laminate floor felt sticky. The property looks clean, but is it? Also small amounts of mold starting on shower curtains and on grout in shower. It was cheap though.

If I could give it 0* then I would. This is my second time staying in a Motel 6 franchise but oh my it was worse than before.
There's a big ass lobby just to play football, maybe as there were no chairs or any table or sofas whatsoever.
The rooms were big enough, but I think they just forgot to put any mirrors at all. There was no microwave, and the washrooms were not cleaned enough. There were two toilet papers, but both of them were almost finished 👍
The drawers in the middle was full of dust and some kind of powdery stuff there .
The worst of it all were the staff in the Lobby that night; we asked for some extra pillows and his reply was ' our brand policy is to give only 2 pillows'🙂 if only if I could get his name!!!!
I'm done with Motel 6 in general for sure

Rooms were newly renovated. However, no coffee pot or utensils in the kitchenette room. HUGE spiders outside, and some in room, can tell they didn't dust good. Shower stall was dirty still, could tell by all the spots on the glass doors.
Even though they renovated, there's a gap at the bottom of the door leading outside and pretty sure that's how spiders were able to get in. (When renovating, they should have fixed the gap in door?)
Also I understand the security deposit, that's pretty standard, but when we decided to extend our stay, they changed the security deposit to $250 instead of the $100 deposit, which I found odd.
Stayed for a week in total. On their brochure it mentioned eco-friendly and only change linens every 3 days, however after day 4, I had to ask for the room to be cleaned as they didn’t come in on day 3 to clean.
I've worked hotels before, and we have had that policy for extended stays also, however we had to still go in and refill supplies like toilet paper and towels daily, and just remake the beds, but freshly changed linens and towels every 3 days.
The location was good, close to a lot of amenities.
Also overheard another unhappy guest who was going to be charged extra for requesting a bottom floor room, since he had an expensive bike with him he wanted to bring in for security reasons.
he just ended up keeping the second floor room and carried his bike upstairs (he was an older gentleman too).
I haven't stayed at many hotels in the past but I don't remember being charged a fee for requesting a certain floor.
Just thought I'd share so other travelers can be more aware of what they might experience

We stayed here about a month ago. The room was clean and newly renovated. Front desk associate was nice. Comfortable beds and good location. Only downside was that the seal on our shower door wouldn't line up properly when the door was closed, so every time we had a shower we had puddles of water on the floor. The hotel also did not have an elevator, so if you have a lot of items, be prepared to walk up the big flight of stairs numerous times. Other than that, it was an OK stay for one night.

Surprised that this was a motel. Great renovated property with spacious rooms and a friendly staff.
Rooms: New and spacious for a motel.
Walkability: Close to other amenities.
