Employees are very friendly and knowledgeable at Eatons Center location when it comes to certain products offered through HotTopic but when it comes to releases for items that are expected to fly off the shelf it should be top priority to take care when opening the inventory boxes to avoid knife strikes on inventory, products, boxes etc.. not sure if this is accidental or intentional cause it's not the first release where this has happened!

I used to visit this location frequently, but I've recently noticed that the store and staff have become quite disorganized.
The store layout is challenging to navigate. Placing a merchandise stand right at the entrance makes it less inviting. The placement of stands within the store seems to obstruct strollers and wheelchair users. There were also 20 or so boxes stacked around the clearance area, making it difficult to maneuver. The overall organization of the store is lacking, making it hard to find and browse items.
This store is not ideal for collectibles. They are inconsistent with their Instagram posts for product releases, often posting well after the opening time. Additionally, they advertise Funkos but later edit the description to say they weren't supposed to be released that day, causing frustration and confusion.
The staff used to greet customers upon entry, but now it seems they congregate around the cash register. Furthermore, the staff's attitude appears unwelcoming, especially a staff member with glasses, possibly named Sophie. It's disappointing that the previous staff has changed.
I'll likely continue to visit other locations, but I would recommend you avoid the Scarborough Town store.
UPDATE:
I went in recently and it was either a manager or someone higher up that was on a personal phone call while working. Just strange.

They are misleading customers with their "hot cash" promotion, which claims to offer 30% off when you buy another tee. If you do the math, the total should be $54.40. I had $15 in hot cash and $5 in rewards, but my total was still $50 as i couldnt use 30 percent off on my second purchase because i ve used the hot cash. This means you aren't actually getting any benefit from the promotion. I am completely disappointed.

I often shop at Hot-Topic (this location, aswell as others) but honestly my experience today was the best customer service I’ve ever received at any Hot Topic location. Drew, the store manager was absolutely lovely & so helpful! I originally just came in to browse earrings but Drew showed me I had some hot cash available, so I figured I’d buy a few things. Ontop of that, Drew went above and beyond to look at some earrings for me & picked out a cute pair of pants that I also ended up getting (they were a perfect fit & so cute!) Overall, it was a really positive experience & Drew made me feel really comfortable:) I would definitely come back to this location:)
