Rented a SUV for four days from this location. Everything went smoothly. Had the choice of two different vehicles at pick up. Very happy with the customer service. Would rent from here again.

If only I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We always used to rent from Hertz in St Catharines because the owner of that location is extremely nice and personable and since that location is no longer in business, I was so happy to see it now in Niagara Falls. Wrong. What a mistake! Completely different owner. Do not rent a car here thinking you’ll actually get a car. I rent a car only when we need it, long drives or if I need a bigger car. We rented to drive to the airport to fit our luggages so we were anticipating we’d have a car to drive to the airport. When I got to the rental, the guy immediately tells me there are no cars available. So I rebutted and said, I had a confirmed reservation and should’ve received an email or call stating there are no cars at least 24hrs prior to the pick up date so I could’ve made other arrangements. But he insisted I had no phone number on file or an email address, which is not true because I receive email correspondence regarding this reservation even reminding me of my pickup. There was just no effort from these guys’ end to advise me of the lack of vehicle availability. I even tried calling several times the same morning to confirm I’m coming but no answer - his response? He was alone (but there is a guy next to him lol, i guess the other guy was non existent). They didn’t care whatsover! They didn’t even help out in finding an alternative. When situations like these happen in the travel industry, it is only fair that an alternative solution is provided to the customer since there is a contract. The guy at this location simply handed me a business card for their manager. For what? What I needed was a vehicle at that time, not a business card. Not even a “sorry” was uttered by this guy. Zero cars, zero customer service! Might as well just close down. Thank you for ruining my loyalty towards hertz, I guess we are going back to Enterprise whenever we have to rent a vehicle. The trust that was gained by the Hertz St Catharines owner was lost by the people from this location. Never again!

0 stars if possible. 0 cars, 0 customer service, 100% racism.I rented a car for Saturday 9 AM pick up. I was the 2nd of us 3 guys queueing outside for 9 AM.The 3 ding dong employees arrived 15 mins late which would've been fine if it wasn't freezing outside.Once they opened the office the employee checked my reservation, skipped me, and assisted the 3rd guy (which was his fellow race) and issued him a car. I was told the other employee would assist me instead.I was then told there were no cars available. No solutions presented other than go to Enterprise 2 blocks away. Apparently all cars are rented out and they can only accommodate reservations from 3 months ago. Such a precise number coming from guys who can't tell 9AM from 915 AM. When asked why the 3rd person was given a car, they claim he reserved before they car shortages. I asked for his reservation date, they refused to show me.What an incredible combination of incompetence and bottom of barrel customer service.TO HERTZ: ADD MORE CARS AND REPLACE THESE EMPLOYEES THAT DO NOT CARE ABOUT RETAIL CUSTOMERS.Actually, take this guy's advice and just stick to Enterprise and Avis. ?♂️

I reserved a car a week in advance and then they had no car available when I showed up. It was raining and I arrived by taxi from the US side of the border. All because Hertz would not allow you to drop off a US rental car in Canada.

If I could, I would give 0 star. This location like others say horrible. I booked a rental vehicle long time ago before I decide to visit Niagara and today is the date to rent a vehicle. They say " NO VEHICLE AVAILABLE". I had to review others review carefully. Anyway, to keep traveling to scheduled destinations, I had to take an Uber to Toronto Airport!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY THIS SCAMMER.NEVER EVEN THINK TO USE THIS PLACE EVER.

Booked with these sleazebags through Expedia: when i showed up to pick up the car, the guy playing a game on his phone was barely interested and stalled until "the manager" came in - who promptly told me that they had no cars, can't help me and it wasn't their problem to address ... and said that I would have to solve it as he wasn't going to help at all (such as calling Hertz to fix the issue) nor would he assist in arranging any transport.The closest to helping was suggesting that I go to Enterprise (just down the road) ... who told me that they (Hertz) had already sent 4 people their way already (and this was before noon).So, never consider renting from this Hertz location: really unpleasant people - first time in my life I've ever had an issue with hiring or collecting a car (I've rented hundreds of times) ... so something is definitely wrong with this particular office.

Didn't like at first that the guy told me there weren't any cars, when the carpark was half full, then magically he had 1. The little kiosk was hot as hell, a/c was not functioning and 3 grown men, 1 fully outstretched on a chair asleep in full view of customers and the other 2 speaking in Hindi throwing glances at one another appearing to consult whether to rent to me or not. I left with the quotation, yes, but I walked a block up and took a rental with Enterprise. They had a/c, and I was greeted with a smile, excellent cuatomer service.

This location is a scam. They are the lowest available price rental in Niagara for a reason - as a bait and switch.Booked and paid a rental through Expedia 1.5 months in advance for my family vacation in Ontario. When we arrived, the person at the desk said he would not give us an SUV for a one way rental and he had a car - BUT he would not accept the Expedia paid agreement and we must book through them directly.. for over double the cost.This is a disgrace - luckily I was not stranded in Niagara and had other methods for transportation, I felt enraged for all those who felt obligated to do this as they didn't have other options for their vacation.If I had not walked away and paid them for a "new" rental, they would have been able to claim the previous rental payment as well - resulting in me paying for a vehicle twice, and not even the SUV I requested, but a compact vehicle.Criminal. I feel horribly for all those who fall for this scam.

Don’t ever book a car with this company. They are fraudstersI had booked a medium suv and had a confirmation email plus reminder with pick up time 10 am on 3rd Aug 2023. I travelled all the way from Dubai crossed the Canadian border via Buffalo airport in a taxi with my family of two kids and my wife. The manager made me wait for 20 mins and had no courtesy to apologise for the delay and when I showed him the confirmation email from Hertz. He said there is no car available. When I asked him why he said they are expecting car but none arrived. I had called them many times prior to arriving they did not answer their phone. When asked why he said “ we don’t answer calls for Customers” .When I asked him what should I do I have a young family he had no reply. I asked him why no one emailed or called me to say there was no car. He said nothing and told me to to to enterprise another company. I was shocked that this is happening in Canada a so called developed company. He did not offer any other car or make any calls.I later walked to Enterprise and they were extremely helpful they did not have the car I needed but one of their employees Mr Shanel from Bombay india was so kind he drove me to Avis car rental and helped me get another car. I am going to file a lawsuit against Hertz and make sure they pay a huge bill to compensate for my time and money. I have read reviews for the same company and you can see that I am not the first one that this has happened to. If you want to ruin your holiday please do not book with hertz Niagara Falls on the Canadian side.

On July 25th I came to pick up a car that I ordered two months ago, Hertz sent me a reminder two days before I went to pick it up that it was waiting for me. I crossed the border from the U.S. on foot with my family, I left them waiting for me at Niagra Falls (Canada) and went to pick up the car.After 30 minutes of walking in the hot sun, I came to the agency, the representative told me "Sorry we don't have a car for you" !!!!WHAT? What am I supposed to do now??? I have a confirmed reservation and they don't have a car for me?? I told him to call his manager, but he said "I cannot do that" and just gave me a 1-800 number to call while he started closing the agency. When I told him to just give me a ride back to Niagra Falls (3 minutes driving) because I didn't have a reception (I couldn't call Uber or navigate my way back) he said he cannot! I went back angry and sweating and didn't find any car for rent. Eventually, after a few hours when I tried to find a car or some solution from Hertz (which they didn't have), I ordered a Taxi to Toronto and paid a lot of money for the ride and for my lost time. This does not end here, Hertz will pay for this.Don't order anything from Hertz, they are not reliable!!

The staff here are super helpful with our car rental. They explained the fees in a very transparent manner, and reassured that we’ve got every piece of information we needed.Upon our return, they offered us a free Uber ride to the train station, which was very considerate. Definitely would consider renting here again if we’re in the area!

You can’t set this location as your return location, and since there are no other hertz anywhere near here… that means this is basically completely unusable for anyone in st catherines. Wish they would fix this, really liked renting from here in the past.

You can’t beat the price for renting a car for a day, especially with unlimited kilometres. Car came out very clean. The gentleman in the office was very personable and answered all my questions. Watch when you come and pick up/drop off your vehicle as the paying kit is very full. Overall service was awesome and quick. Definitely lots of vehicles to choose from. Rented online from kayak. Got insurance. Hertz could not see I got the insurance and asked for it. If you get it in line. That is enough. Thanks for the great service. Will rent a veggie here again.
