I was in the store today looking for a pair of work shoes. Told the staff what I needed and left with a great pair with little fuss. While paying for my purchase I casually asked about shoes for kids with orthotics as finding those can prove difficult. The (I assume) owner, explained in detail the products that could work for us and let me know they are experienced in dealing with neurodivergent kiddos. I felt that the way it was delivered showed empathy, kindness, and an understanding of some of the obstacles we face with our kids. Thank you for an uplifting experience!

Great supportive staff.
Had a supplier failure from a well known safety boot manufacturer. The Boot Shop team did a great job at replacing my boots. Everyone was kind and friendly.

This shop came recommend to me by a friend, so when I wanted to purchase my first pair of Birkenstocks, I chose this location. I was also told by this friend that cork sealer helps protect the shoe and its longevity, so when I was checking out with a pair at this store, I asked to purchase a bottle of the sealer as well. The employee assisting me did not provide any instructions on how to use it.
I went home, and the bottle simply said to apply to the cork of the shoe. The entire foot bed is cork, so I applied it all over. I did not realize that the sealer was only meant for the sides of the shoe, so immediately I went back and asked if there was any way they could assist in replacing these shoes, or helping me purchase another pair. I was told that this shoe was no longer in stock, and it seems like its not even made anymore, so I was out of luck.
Being in customer service myself, I understand that sometimes there are user errors that occur when using a product. Personally, I always try and sympathize with my client and create a solution for them so that they are incentivized to return back and use my services once again. Unfortunately, I was not provided that level of service at The Boot Shop. I was simply told that since I changed the resale value of the shoe, there was nothing they could do. With that, the employees at the store did admit that the instructions on the bottle are misleading, and after some internet research on my end, I see I am one of many who have made this mistake before by applying sealer on the wrong part of the shoe.
My expectation when buying an expensive pair of shoes is that the service is up to par to the product I am purchasing. I wish I had been educated on how to care for Birkenstocks correctly. My friend who had purchased theirs from Soft Moc was given an entire run down on the shoe care, and has now had a pair last almost a decade.
The owner of the store also reached out to me and provided an abrupt and unsympathetic voicemail essentially saying the store could do nothing to assist.
After this experience, I do not have any incentive or desire to shop here. I hope something can be learned from this.
Response to reply: The bottle of cork renew says to apply two layers to new sandals. Additionally, as I said, this was my first time purchasing Birkenstocks, I thought the entire foot bed was cork. Further to my review above, I had wished the Staff had proactively provided care instructions. I am new to purchasing sandals like this, how would I have known what type of questions to ask :)

I have had shoes from here since my mother could walk us to town in 50’s and buy shoes at the boot shop. Near 70 years later never seem to need go any where else when needing a good pair of shoes. Always have what I’m looking for.

This store is very unreasonable to deal with. My daughter received two pairs of baby shoes for her first birthday from her grandmother who had purchased them a week prior. Both pairs were two small so I went in to exchange them a couple days after her birthday (just wanted to exchange for the right size, not a refund). When I went into the store they barely had any shoes available in her size, told me they can’t order sizes in and then also told me they were a final sale and they would not exchange them.I like to think this was a one off but my sister also bought shoes from here a few years ago that she got solely because they advertised for being waterproof boots. She wore them once and her feet got soaked so she tried to take them back and was told they would not do anything for her.Wouldn’t waste you’re money or time dealing with this store.

In my experience, the lady helping us was very patient and made sure we got what we wanted and did not ignore us at all she was very kind. I will definitely be going back to buy more shoes. There was a variety of unique shoes, which can be difficult to find. It does seem expensive, but the shoes are of great quality, and they have good sales.

The staff here are great, they know what they are doing and can help you find what you need like no other.The problem is management. And it isn't small.They seem fine, but they are entitled, and do not treat their employees with respect. I was finding shoes on my own; an employee asked if I needed help, but I told them I was just fine and so they returned to their own duties.Then a manager came over and would not stop harassing me about what I was looking for. I do not need you pushing sales down my throat; I know what I need, the employees know that I know what I need. Heavens knows they probably berate their employees for not doing the same thing, but them being this overbearing is too much.It does not speak well of the work atmosphere. It also doesn't help that while I needed no help, there were other customers of ethnic origins that the managers COMPLETELY ignored.Addendum to the reply;It seems strange that you would accuse me of having personal connections for having to have an issue with shopping here.If workers are leaving often enough for it to coincide with me writing this review, then perhaps my impressions of the work environment were more correct than I had originally thought.
