I went to the Brick on Fourth Ave, St Catharines on October 4th, 2024. I was looking for a new range as I recently purchased a new home and the existing range was not working properly. As Thanksgiving weekend was approaching and I had family coming from out of Province I figured it would be the perfect time to get a new range with the sole purpose of cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my family.
I had a great experience in store with Keith who helped me to purchase a new range, fridge, dishwasher, and microwave all with 5 year warranty. I was assured these items would be delivered before Thanksgiving.
The items were delivered as promised on October 9th, 2024. As I was working night shift, my dad went to meet the delivery team. The two male employees unboxed the range at the truck and then brought it into the house where they slid it into position against the wall. As I was working nights, I did not see the damages to the back of the range until we moved it out a day and a half later to put the above range microwave into place.
I reported the damages to the Brick immediately and they only seemed concerned that it was within 48 hours of delivery. I was not told upon purchasing the items nor at the time of delivery that any damages would need to be reported strictly within this 48-hour period. Thankfully it was within 48 hours.
The most disappointing part of this all is that I was unable to use my new range to cook Thanksgiving dinner due to the damages. I had family come from out of Province to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner and was unable to do so. I was then out money for a big turkey/dinner and then had to purchase take out for my family and I.
After some brief correspondence over email I was contacted by a customer service representative, Ray from the Brick a few days later. He offered me three options.
1. A $200 refund if I kept the damaged item
2. A $300 in-store credit if I kept the damaged item
3. An exchange with no compensation. Also, stating that they did not have the item in stock and it may take up to a month and a half to deliver a new range.
After stating that I was not happy with these options as the item should not have come damaged and the damages were at the back of the range in the area of the fan and the power outlet. As such, I did not feel comfortable keeping the damaged product which would likely have to be repaired or replaced in the future. He then stated he could obtain the range from another store which could be delivered within a few days. He was adamant that they could not provide me any further compensation for the item being damaged or the inconvenience over the holiday. Despite me spending thousands of dollars on all new appliances and having the most important one arrive damaged and unable to be used.
I respectfully asked to speak with someone in management to rectify the situation. He advised he would pass along my contact information to his supervisor or manager to which I have not heard any response in days.

We had a lovely experience at The Brick . Our sales consultant, Dan, went above and beyond for us. He took the time to show us the mechanisms of the furniture we were interested in, informed us about customizations and add ons and he made the purchasing process seamless. He was transparent with pricing and what he could do for us. Thank you so much Dan for making furniture buying a wonderful process. I highly recommend this location, and working with Dan.

Reed was so helpful in finding the perfect couch for us and wine fridge. On delivery, the wrong piece was delivered, however the Brick …. Reed specifically resolved the problem so quickly. Mistakes happen….. it’s how properly they are resolved that is important. Thank you so much!

It was ok. I always feel pressured and like a zoo animal here with sales people pouncing on you as soon as you walk in, then stalking you around the store. We did get mattresses here but ultimately got a cabinet at tuppermans as it was bigger and cheaper. I know folks work on commission and a sale is a sale, I just hate that feeling of being watched ..
