Hours: Food Basics is a quality food store for family needs, with nice advertising. It offers produce, canned goods, cheap personal hygiene products, and an appreciated international foods section. The store has plenty of choices and is open during construction, taking on a great new appearance. The employees are nice and helpful. However, the self checkout is terrible, with constant glitches about the bagging area requiring employee login. A major complaint is a new electronic gate at the entrance, which had a tech fault that locked out an elderly customer. This glitchy system is considered unwelcoming and a disgrace, with a request to remove it for old-fashioned access.
