Okay so I see a lot of bad reviews about Scotiabank on here especially for the Strath Roy department. I will say that in some cases yes unfortunately we're dealing with nincompoops. But there are some highly educated tellers and a associates. I do not recommend doing what I do. But I came in recently for a fraud problem with a check that I received from somebody that was obviously fake. It was very polite at first until the teller told me basically in a polite way there's nothing they can do and I need an appointment. But I was told I had office and I don't need an appointment for this type of circumstances. When I explained she just implied, that's the way we operate. Blond with a bluish green tinge. Then I called head office. And once I heard I was speaking to then they went and got somebody. So the beginning of the situation was ridiculous but I will admit. My attitude was not prompt by the teller. It was just the fact that I had to jump through all these hoops for a 5-minute conversation tell somebody to put something like a red flag on this check. Judy is the one that helped me. Not only is she super attractive but she had integrity in the knowledge to call me down put me in my place and get the problem solved. And I'm internally grateful because I was a little bit of an j*** but this is very important this is my hard-earned money. And I felt like the first lady didn't even care.Thank you Judy.

The phone system is absolutely horrible. It is next to impossible to speak directly with anyone at the branch.

The good:There was no line. We didn't have to wait to be served. The not so good:If I remember correctly, the lady that helped us was named Robin. She was slow and did a poor job of communicating her questions to us. She also gave us the contact info of an employee that was on vacation (resulting in us having to drive back to Scotiabank when RBC wanted to verify our bank draft). It's clear that working at Scotiabank has a lower barrier to entry than RBC.

Went there, and didn't wait long at all. The woman at the counter, Robin, was very nice, and answered all my questions. Great service and friendly as well.

Never have experienced since poor service consistently at every visit. The manager is great, but the employees are not. My family has also had awful experiences at this branch (lost funds, missing RRSP contribution transfers, false information on credit card information, and so on). We have all switched to other banks and have had no similar issues. The London branches of Scotiabank are great, so if you choose to bank with them I would strongly recommend a London home branch.

Could this be the worst branch of any bank in the country? It's possible. If you want to walk in and be made to feel like you're being there is a massive disruption to their day, then please bank here. While in the bank talking face to face with a real live person, I was told I needed to go home and call to change my address. That it would be easier. For who!? Certainly not me. I surely hope that the head of HR for their company does an audit on their client relations, and they all get put on leave for until they can treat people with dignity and respect.

I went to this branch and with a smile told the lady at the front counter that i was trying to call your branch shockingly she cut me off and very rudely with an terrible attitude said why are u here now and what do u need!! I then explained and she asks me my account number although i gave my card info then i wanted to open up my app on phone again she rudely keep looking at me as if she is not willing to serve me and im surprised why even she is working there as a CSR when having so rude aggressive attitude towards her client! Is she doing me a favor or i am the one doing favor by keeping funds in that bank confused

Had a decent experience here except when dealing with a financial advisor, we should have talked to someone else as she did not have the information necessary, but continued to talk like she KNEW about it. She managed to offend us and talk to us like we were very stupid, not helpful at all and lied about knowing info. If you don't know anything don't attempt to make it seem like you do, just admit you are wrong. DO NOT GO SEE MARIAN SMITH, I had a terrible experience and do not recommend it.

As usual everything at Scotiabank is an argument. My husband went to close his accounts. The teller didn’t want to because “I don’t know him”. He has his bank card so why does the teller need to personally know him to close his accounts?Just always to frustrating to deal with this place.
