The Healing Arc

The Healing Arc's Sea Buckthorn Orchard is a beautiful, rolling farmland located just north of Wingham, Ontario. It is the first fruit-producing Sea Buckthorn Orchard in the province, owned by Marlene Wynnyk, who has worked on agricultural research projects to find plants that can be grown on marginal land and used in the functional food and nutraceutical industry. The orchard resembles a tropical paradise, with trees laden with brilliant orange fruit from late July to early October. The berries have a tart, citrus flavor and are nutritional, refreshing, versatile, and locally sourced. Sea Buckthorn has been used for centuries as a food and for its pharmaceutical properties. Visitors can spend a lovely time with the owner and her daughter, learning about the sea buckthorn and sharing life's stories. The farm itself is beautiful and makes for a great day of visiting. The staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. Visitors can collect the berries themselves or purchase products made with sea buckthorn, such as creams, oils, and soaps. The orchard is highly recommended, even for children.
