“Stayed when the roads were closed and couldn't make our way home. Front desk was quick and professional, rooms were excellent; clean and quiet. Pool was warm and hot tub was amazing. I didn't go to breakfast but you could smell it in the lobby (mmm!). Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone as it would fit any of your needs.”

“Old hotel with too many structural problems, I definitely don’t expect luxury from an Econolodge but at the price that I was paying I’ve stayed in hotels that were 3-4 times better at half the price. On top of that consider that the cost of living in the area is low, I think this hotel was way over priced for what I got.PROS; Karen at the front desk was amazing. She was the only one that I found was nice and helpful. She recognized that I am a diamond club member so she gave me a free upgrade, as well as a late check in which should always be included for all diamond club members. Unfortunately not all choice hotel staff understand that but Karen did. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and most of all the bed sheets and pillows smelled really nice. There was hot water in the shower and the shower pressure with strong. There was a fridge in a microwave in the room which really helped. Wi-Fi connection was excellent.CONS: both air conditioning and heater were really loud to put on. The bathroom fan was excessively loud and was connected to the light switch so you couldn’t turn on the lights without hearing that loud noise. The toilet didn’t flush properly. Sometimes the water in the tank wouldn’t fill and sometimes it would flush automatically by itself every hour. At some point it was making a really loud flushing noise every 10 minutes. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking someone else was using my washroom. There are no windows in this hotel room so if you’re cooking in your microwave, good luck. You cannot get fresh air or the smell of food out. There are doors that you can open but then tons of mosquitoes and flies come in. the room itself smelled really bad. Even though the bed smelled good, the room had an old musty smell. There was no close the door closet so your clean clothes will end up stinking like the hotel room. The TV channels are not great. I couldn’t even find the food channel or the Canadian news channel I asked for a quiet room away from people and noise. The first day I was there ,took an 11 hour bus and my neighbour and all his buddies were sitting out in front of the room drinking and smoking and talking loud. Though there is an 11 o’clock curfew they went on until 11 and I’m usually in bed by nine. It’s a non-smoking hotel, but they encourage smoking. By putting smoking cans outside each room. My neighbour also had a dog that kept barking. Every time I moved in my room. Luckily, he checked out but the next day some older lady came with her barking little dog. Being pet friendly is a positive thing for most people, but I can’t stand hearing barking dogs. The last two days I was there the hotel was quiet thank good! If the hotel is busy, you will definitely hear a noise so it’s the luck of the draw. Another disadvantage: breakfast was always empty Every time I went. I asked the attendant Kim to give me more coffee cream. I stated that the last three days I’ve been in the breakfast room there was no cream. She gave me a smart reply that there were 20 people ahead of me hence why there was no cream. It doesn’t matter how many people used the cream! how about saying sorry and just filling the cream instead of giving me attitude? I also was not able to get any eggs on those three first days and when I pointed out to her she said there was one more left and she couldn’t fill it until that one egg was gone. I don’t know about you, but one egg for breakfast is not enough for me and I didn’t want to take the last one in the bowl but because she gave me attitude I just went to Walmart and bought ready-made boiled eggs. A little lesson in customer service goes a long way and being a smart know, it all just does not impress me and make me stay away from the hotel as much as I can. There was a huge space between the door that allowed flies to come in my room. I assume because of the area there was a lot of flies, but why are they coming in the room? At $130 a night I will not be back here.”
