Laundry in Temiskaming Shores, ON

“We had a quick and peaceful experience here today! I had to bring my two kids ages 6 & 8 to do our laundry from the last two weeks. We are a family of 5 with and off-grid trailer just across the lake in Quebec. We’ve owned the property for a few years but decided to be brave and spend 6 weeks here—our permanent home is in southern Ontario. My husband went home to work for two weeks and we are entertaining friends here next week. The two littles and I spent the day in town doing all our laundry and bedding and shopping for our guests. I will note that there are a lot of machines out of order, but there are still plenty of machines that work. The ladies in the dry cleaning section who gave us the change were very nice. The others in the laundry mat (who I assume were local) were quick to point out which machines worked best and were kind and sympathetic to my situation. There were a few machines that weren’t working correctly for other patrons and the staff was quick to place an out of order sign on said machines. I found the pricing on the washers and dryers extremely affordable as well. Additional signage on what machines take what change would be helpful. It looks like there were stickers on them at some point that have rubbed off. Everything is loonies and quarters. I bought a roll of each and still had some change leftover—which isn’t bad for 9 loads. The dryers are nice and big and very efficient. You can put multiple loads in the dryers and everything was dry in about 30-40 minutes (towels took a bit longer). I would go back for sure!”
