Nice place. Good pizzas but topping combinations feel forced to be different. Good endive salad. Expensive mains - inflationary days? Wine list leans to expensive side. Good

Great atmosphere! I told my wife it felt like we were dining in a cozy restaurant at the foot of a ski hill. She aptly pointed out the set of skis affixed to the wall near the bar. I think she was on to something. Anyway, apart from the warm and intimate ambiance, the service was solid and the food was fantastic! My wife said she really enjoyed the chili crumb on her Veggie Pizza.

Called to make a reservation. Josh was extremely rude. I was planning on going with friends for some drinks and appetizers. He told me that we weren't allowed to do that and I was the reason that small businesses fail.

We tried Bruce Wine Bar last night for the first time and I honestly can not say enough good things about it! From the intimate, cozy dining room to the prompt and pleasant service, it was checking all of the boxes for our night out. Then we got to the food - and honestly, wow! The 3 of us dining all had very different cravings for our dinners but each managed to get a dish that was exceptional and exactly what we wanted. The Fowl was crispy, moist and delicious; The Beast was fall-apart tender and full of flavour; And the Pizzas were everything that you want from a wood oven pizza - loaded with toppings and with a beautiful charred smokey crust. Portions were also great for the prices - especially when comparing some of the other local options. Definitely my new number one choice for going out to eat. If you haven't tried it yet, it is a must!Dietary restrictions: Lots of options for dietary restrictions! They cover all of the major restrictions with their assortment of gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and/or vegan options - I can't wait to bring my gluten and dairy free or pescatarian friends and family here.

Top tier, visited this place while staying in the area for a few days. The food was super tasty, the ocean (salmon) was amazing. Secondly the desert (fruit) was enjoyable bite after bite. Highly recommended visiting this spot for all your food needs! 10/10 !

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. To start, our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and made us feel comfortable, welcome and attended to.Every course that came out not only looked amazing but the flavours were out of this world! If this place existed in a larger city the price point would skyrocket and you probably would have to book months in advance. We started with the Duck Spiedini which was truly the best way I have ever been served duck in my life. YUMThen we had the ocean special which was Salmon, and the way it was cooked was just phenomenal. Crisped salty skin, tender inside, served on a bed of the most incredible combination of ingredients that just paired so flawlessly with everything but also could be enjoyed individually. We then enjoyed two desserts. The “Fruit” which was a pumpkin cheesecake of sorts with brandied pears, pomegranate, blueberries.. I’m not doing it justice.. it was SO delicious. Like I wanted to order 5 more to go, even though I was stuffed! And then also enjoyed a feature dessert which was a toffee pudding with a yuzu whipped cream and black sesame seeds.. it had the most satisfying flavours and textures. Just mind blowing.Of course we had a bottle of wine too. The Love Block.. delicious as well (not shocking)I didn’t know I wanted to come back to Thornbury regularly until after dining at Bruce Wine Bar. 11/10 CHEFS KISS!

With Bruce Wine Bar being my first experience in Thornbury, it set the bar pretty high. Sat down for a late dinner. Sidenote: we tried to uber or get a cab from Blue Mountain Village, 75$ one way, no guarantee there would be a ride home. We opted to drive and parked in the municipal lot. Our server was fantastic and made some excellent recommendations. We had the Caesar Salad, Polenta Fries, the feature app, Tequila Lime Pizza, Tuna Crudo and deep and delicious cake for take away. All the food was excellent and the service was fantastic. If I had to critique something, the polenta fries were a bit thick, but nonetheless still tasted great.

Cozy and delicious! We enjoyed a great brussel sprouts and burrata salad, polenta fries and a funghi pizza. Wine was great too. Server Joshua was knowledgeable and pleasant. Great vibe.

Not my first visit, and definitely not my last! The Bruce Wine Bar is a great place to eat in or takeout! Tonight I was running late, so it was takeout. My girlfriend and I were at the laundromat across the street, barely able to see each other over the stacks of laundry! So we decided that we deserved a treat for all the folding, something special, out of the ordinary… and the Bruce was our first choice… and it didn’t disappoint!I got to jaywalk over and the only instructions were pizza and something different! The Bruce’s menu came through with flying colours!Apple & Squash! (Roasted squash, matchstick Goldsmith’s apple, citrus & herb ricotta, roasted garlic & thyme cream base, toasted pumpkin seeds) $24.And, there were two of us after all…Tequila Lime Chicken! (Tequila, lime & coriander marinated chicken, charred corn, cherry tomato, white onion, tomato base, coriander lime crema) $24.The Bruce has an open kitchen on the ground level where you can eat at high, heavy plank tables and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the Sous Chef and line cooks, while you enjoy the delicious products of their efforts! Or you can go upstairs to the cozy dining room that often has a musician in the far corner! As noted, I was doing takeout tonight… ready as promised in ten minutes… and on our table at home in another ten! Both pizzas were as delicious as their names were intriguingly creative! What a wonderful eating experience awaits you, hidden away behind the TD Bank on HWY 26 in Thornbury!Bon appétit!
