I always order my meat and chicken from Junior. He's very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Junior is wonderful and I trust him to always give me the best and freshest cuts of brisket, steaks and chicken. I'm never disappointed. Thank you Junior. Nortown is lucky to have you.

I could have given this store a zero rating, but the lowest is a one. I began shopping at the various Nortown branches decades ago when they were great. In the last few years, our family noted slippage in the flavour and texture of the meats and wondered if they were holding prices down by buying inferior meat. But the prices were as high or higher than any other place and, frankly, we just had to stop using them...you can do as well or better at any chain retailer. Yesterday, I purchased about 10 differentprepared food items. One after the other they are being discarded as the family reports tasteless, chewy, and generally poor quality on everything. We made a decision to now avoid. Nortown entirely...if they don't think they owe anything to faithful, high-paying customers, Nortown deserves to go out of business and we'll do our part to assist!

This is not the first time this has happened when I'm at Nortown but it happened again today. The lady that was wiping down the clear glass (maybe plexiglass) display cases sprays Windex directly onto the display case rather than on the rag she is wiping with. These cases have small gaps (maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch) between each other and the Windex easily goes through the cases and onto the food being displayed. It is unfathomable to me how management allows this. Windex is contaminating the food!!!! I did speak to the lady responsible and she just tried to shrug it off, denying that she did it when I clearly observed it happening. I should be reporting this to York Region Health Dept.
Nortown Management: firstly, you should speak to your staff about procedure for cleaning those cases. Secondly, a vinegar and water mix is just as effective and will NOT contaminate food if some of trickles upon some of the food being sold. I'll be shopping at Concord or Brunos for the next while as this is completely unacceptable.
