I was worried about this location after reading the reviews, but this was the only one in the area that had a truck available.It was a fast reservation process (online, same-day), fast check-in and checkout. Good location, 10 mins walk from Yonge end Steeles..The only issue is that the phone response is sporadic. Not sure what's wrong with their phone but its difficult to call them. I was able to reach out eventually, but it took several attempts.

Open businesses and there no one to take care of business and the the person that comes is “offended “ because I was upset for waiting. And the he said he is not taking care of me for been “so rude”

The reviews absolutely live up to the horrible reputation. I got overchaged on KMs by a significant margin and they charged a cleaning fee when I gave the van back in the exact same condition I received it. Do not go here unless you absolutely have to

It’s hard to fathom why a company in this day and age would impose such a restrictive and inconvenient payment policy.First of all, debit Visa cards are a common and widely used form of payment in Canada. It’s absurd that U-Haul doesn’t accept them, especially when other rental companies and businesses have no issue with this straightforward payment method.This policy makes U-Haul’s services significantly less accessible to a large segment of potential customers. Many people prefer or exclusively use debit cards for financial transactions, and this limitation excludes them from renting U-Haul vehicles.Additionally, U-Haul’s lack of flexibility when it comes to payment options is a stark contrast to the convenience and ease of service that many customers expect in today’s world. It’s not only inconvenient but also a major inconvenience to those who find themselves in need of moving services.Overall, U-Haul’s refusal to accept debit Visa cards in Canada is an utter joke. It not only inconveniences customers but also puts them at a disadvantage compared to other rental companies. This outdated policy desperately needs a revamp to align with the expectations of modern consumers.

The van was so FILTHY that it was unbelievable that it was available for renting. The smell also was so bad that I had to drive with doors open the whole trip and most probably some of that small got into the stuff I was moving. I took a nice video showing the interior and will post it on youtube so you can see what I meant by filthy and it was not an exaggeration.The checking was fast and smooth so that was the best experience with this rental but never again I will rent from this location.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE LADY RUDE AND RACISTTo elaborate, i am chinese/filipina that came and reserve the u-haul 10 foot truck in advance and online it had said “Guaranteed”. I didn’t have any problems doing it on the app. Since it’s our first time renting I decided might aswell go inside and talk to whomever is in charge.I go in. She said oh no we don’t have the 10 foot we only have a Cargo van, she saw me she was not nice she was more on the irritated annoyed i don’t want to work here anymore side.We checked out the cargo van and we were okay with it. Then these two couples came and they seem like they were looking for a van or truck last minute and both the short red head lady receptionist and the disorganized people that came in speak the same language. This lady suddenly said they don’t take Debit VISA and that they only take MASTERCARD, CREDIT CARD, VISA.She wasn’t even willing to try to do it but the app and website said it takes debit visa. So idk if she was just favouring those people but I’m so not happy with this

The booking and pickup experiences were fine, but there were plastic boxes and a cardboard box filled with trash that was in the back of the van. We only found the items once we had arrived on-site at our first destination. We didn’t touch the stuff and it took up valuable space that we could have used, but it wasn’t ours to throw out - plus we didn’t have time to deal with it. We returned the van and once we got the invoice a day or two later we saw that they had charged us a cleaning fee. I sent an email to customer service and they opened a case to resolve this. ALWAYS CHECK IN THE BACK AND TAKE PICTURES OF INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. I’ve modified this review because I did get a refund for the cleaning fee. This could’ve been avoided if they checked the vehicle before giving me the keys.
