“Very open to all, not just Christians. This is mostly volunteer-run, with a few permanent workers only. They provide housing in multiple locations of Thunder Bay, and in the Abbey itself is a women's shelter.I like meditating in the prayer tower. Lots of interesting folx eat at their table for lunch time and I've enjoyed interacting with people from all walks of life there.Coffee quality is tied for 2nd in terms of taste city wide. I won't say who is #1, or who it is tied with. They get fresh beans from a Canadian company, JJ Bean.”

“I have a couple of friends that attend this church for faith based ministries of the Holy Bible and Jesus. I found the message was clear and articulated well. The community was friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for a Christian connection to your higher power there is potential to find it here. The Church also hosts community recovery meetings and events in lower level space with kitchen access. There is a children's room avaklable as well.”

“We are glad that there is a church here in Thunder Bay in which we could be welcome in and grow spiritually. There is an overwhelming sense of belonging being part of a family who really loves you. Not everyone is perfect, but we all have the opportunity to learn what God's heart is for us.”

“They are there for anyone that needs help. The CEO makes way less than most CEO's that are taking care of businesses of the same size. A true not for profit place.”

“Everyone welcomes you warm-heartedly and treat you like their family. I love being there every Sunday. The Rev is also so concerned it’s a weekly treat with great music and Service. It’s a suggested place for a new Comer like me to ignore loneliness and grow spiritually in a new place with peace.”

“Westfort Baptist Church is a wonderful, christocentric church where you can fellowship with other believers in Jesus Christ who are walking out their faith in every day life. One of the most humble pastors I know of - very gentle, wise, patient, open to hear where God is leading, and he and his very godly wife are firmly grounded in the Scriptures and are both trustworthy sources of guidance and wisdom. They say that the most faithful and true relationships in life are those that grow over time, and Westfort Baptist Church is one of those kinds of churches. It may take a little time to get to know everybody here, as well as get a good sense of how exactly God would have you fit in this family; but the long term, biblical friendships you will develop here will be used of God to encourage and refine you. God will transform you more into the likeness of Jesus Christ through real relationships with other believers, and Westfort Baptist Church is one such place where you will find a community of real believers who are passionate about the Lord and about helping to equip and strengthen you in the ministry the Lord has called you to for His Kingdom's purposes.”
