Been a member of movati for a very long time. Was thinking for awhile that I should leave a review. It's an amazing, inclusive, and luxury gym that has amazing amenities like the sauna, women's room and pool. I don't really like the lack of encouraged feedback from members, after the renovations, a lot of machines were removed. I particularly didn't like that they took the large mat out of the women's room. the measly thin mats feels cheap now and I pay nearly $70 a month for my membership... I think that they can afford a new, better large surface area mat. having that said, the cleanliness has not been up to par since Michelle has left. I have noticed a huge difference in the state of the changerooms ever since her absence. Again, something that you'd think a gym this costly would keep up on. I understand that covid has changed a lot of things and thus a huge butterfly effect, but the gym also used to have a child care centre open. Having that said, it used to attract a lot more people, and it worked for a lot of people and their schedules. They never opened again, which you think they'd be able to afford to considering the rising costs of memberships and now even a premium membership.

Great place to workout. Staff are awesome and there are lots of great amenities. My only grievance is the hours on the weekend but all in all a nice place to be.

The student enrollment only available to people under 24. This is ageism! I have a valid student ID.

Excellent place to work out.I joined Movati because I was paying for a gym membership elsewhere, but wanted to do aquafit and yoga, and it was significantly more cost effective to pay for a Movati membership than 3 separate memberships (I'm saving over $100 a month and have access to other classes to try).Space: They've done a ton of renovations lately including everything from flooring, to change rooms to a lot of new machines! It's great and looks crisp and modern. There's saunas and steam rooms, the pool you can access for general swimming when there's not classes going on same with the hot tub.Pool: I love the pool and the aqua classes. It's warmer than public pools, so you don't feel like you're freezing (it's comfortable), and the hot tub is great for relaxing muscles (I do wish it was bigger though and/or had more of a variety of jet locations).Classes: There's a variety of different classes for everyone from people at the beginning of their fitness journeys, to people who are experienced. The instructors do an excellent job at demonstrating moves, motivating you, and providing adaptations. I am fairly young (late 30s) but have multiple sclerosis and some mobility issues and instructors have been great at offering suggestions for adaptions..Atmosphere: Friendly, clean, open atmosphere. There's a women's only space for people who prefer that. I work out in the main area though and everyone is respectful and just doing their own thing. It's also great to different body sizes, shapes, and ages. It's very inclusive and diverse.Equipment: Tons of variety with regards to the equipment, and a lot of the the cardio equipment you can sync to your fitness apps.Training: I just started personal training but it's been fantastic so far. I have a lot of health issues and I was open about that when I signed up for training. My trainer has been fantastic at customizing and adapting workouts to optimize my health and safety while still giving me a great workout.Everyone I've interacted with (staff, other people in classes, occasionally other people in the workout areas) have been friendly.

I am always greeted by staff, and the pool is my go to for my early morning swims. Variety of classes to challenge yourself.

An amazing gym that always emphasizes client experiences and happiness! Very clean, wonderful amenities, and they handled themselves spectacularly when harassed during pride month, maintaining themselves as a safe space for all folks. Love movati!

Wonderful group of staff who know their members by name and make an effort to make them feel welcome every time we walk in. I always have the most friendly interactions with everyone working there and have never had a single complaint in the 5 years I’ve been going!Extremely clean and well maintained, and any suggestions for improvements or new equipment ideas are all handled with grace and thoughtful consideration.Highly recommend this gym!

FYI men should be in the men's change room and women should be in theirs. This is absolutely out of control. What about the safety??? This is absolutely disgraceful and I will never recommend this place. You should be ashamed of yourselves for thinking this is OK. You have a separate workout area for women but when it comes to change rooms anyone can go in there ?!

Their instructors aren't even fit. How can you expect someone to take a class seriously when the instructor is among the most unfit in the class? I've seen better at Planet Fitness.P.S.: Men should use the men's change room - no ifs, ands, or buts.

I saw a post online saying that Movati now allows men in the women’s change rooms under the guise of being inclusive - and if us women are not okay with that then we are not tolerantWe went from me too for women to screw you pretty darn fast.No - we are not okay with obvious men in places that are supposed to be safe for us. So many of us worked hard for our rights, freedoms and safety. And we need to band together to reverse this insanity.

After paying a LOT of money for my membership and being very rarely allowed to use the pool due to classes, training, family swim etc etc, I went to the front desk and asked to cancel my membership. Melissa Nevin became very argumentative and rude when I explained how I have been very often told I can’t swim in the pool after driving from Shuniah for a swim. Employees at the desk have given me wrong information as to when the classes are and whether I can or can’t use the pool. Often when there’s a class, they are only using half the pool yet I’m told I can’t join the class or use the other half of the pool. Melissa Nevin refused to enter the reasons for my cancellation or to allow me to enter the reasons on my document. She is extremely rude and should not be in a position of dealing with the public!!Beware paying large amounts of money to join Movati!!!

Quite a nice facility, very clean and the staff are all friendly. I've been greeted as I walk in every time with a genuine smile. There is a wide range of people who workout here so I feel very comfortable and not intimidated. The pool, steam rooms and saunas are a nice bonus.

I was visiting Thunder Bay for just under a week, and I was so pleased with my experience at Movati. First, I had emailed the manager a few weeks ago, and she promptly replied to my questions. Upon arrival, I was greeted by genuine smiles from the staff. They were all so polite and knowledgeable. While I used the facility, I saw numerous staff members always cleaning the gym. The change rooms/bathrooms were very well maintained, and the gym was also very clean. There was quite a variety of workout equipment including various cardio and weight machines, stretching areas, studio space, and areas for hiit and other cardio/strength workouts. I noticed that there was a comforting community feel to the gym as many members seemed to know each other and the staff. I would definitely visit Movati again! It's a great fitness centre.
